Lauren wins

Lauren looked at her cards and held back a frown. At best she managed a high card. She could only hope that maybe Rosie had a terrible hand too and that she could beat her out on a face to face. She looked at Rosie trying to figure out what she had. Perhaps Lauren could risk it and swap ALL of her cards for a possible clutch win? But what were the odds that the next set of cards would be any good?! Lauren nibbled her bottom lip as she looked, debating what to do. Rosie had a look of confidence, or maybe that was just Lauren being intimidated. Lauren sighed, she had to do it.

Lauren placed down all of her cards “Swap them all,” she said.

Rosie raised an eyebrow, but Lauren didn’t care. She had to do it. She had to hope for a better hand in order to keep her dignity in tact.

Lauren looked at her new hand but kept a neutral face as she looked. “So Lauren, should I reveal first or should you?” Rosie asked.

“Ladies first,” Lauren said. “You go first.”

Rosie smiled and revealed an ace of clubs, a 2 of clubs, a 3 of clubs, a 4 of clubs, and a 5 of clubs. Lauren waited patiently as Rosie looked up and said. “Well, Lauren, can you do better than that?” Rosie asked.

Lauren quivered her bottom lip. “Oh no, Rosie,” Lauren said. “Rosie, I... I don’t know what to say... I...”

“Now now, Lauren. There will be no chickening out,” Rosie said. “Show your cards already.”

Lauren sighed and showed the Jack of hearts first. Then came the 10 of hearts. Followed by the King of hearts. Then the Ace of hearts and finally.... the Queen of Hearts. Rosie’s jaw dropped. “That’s impossible!” Rosie shouted. “You swapped all your cards!!!”

Lauren smirked. “I guess fate is on my side after all,” Lauren said. “Now, I believe you owe me all of your clothes. Every last item.”
