Looking around you found yourself alone in a dark stone dungeon. A single lightbulb hanging from the ceiling was the only light you had and in the otherwise room was a large reinforced metal door. You could hear laughing, voices whispering and you could feel unimaginable anger and rage emanating from the door.

You took a deep breath before stepping forward opening the door. Stepping inside you could see metal bars lined with stones covered from from top to bottom in sigils. Darkness surrounded you from all sides you looked around before you saw you. In the other side of the bars was a reflection of you.

Before you could say anything however he spoke first. “Well well well my jailor comes to pay me a visit tell me hows it working out for you being called a monster, people treating you like your him hmm?”

“I am not him I will never be like him!” You yelled back crossing your arms. “Sure keep telling yourself that boss but lets be realistic you can try to keep me locked away forever but the truth is some day I don’t know the year, the week, the day or the hour but when you do break I will be free!” Your reflection said laughing. “I don’t even know who are you and I don’t know why your even here!” You yelled back.

“You should know who I am besides you know the saying like father like-” “Shut up I am nothing like that old bastard and never will be like him not as long as I live!” You yelled. Your reflection simply chuckled before fading the darkness once more. “One day you’ll need me and you’ll be back I’m counting on it.” Before you awoke in a cold sweat.

The fire had died down now smoldering pile drawing your wand you cast a silent fireball reignited the flame as your armored guardian silently placed another log into the fire. You looked down at your chest to find Harmony still snuggled into your chest sound asleep. Stroking her hair you sighed rubbing your eyes before closing them once more.

You found yourself in a forest of evergreens at night with a full moon similar to the one outside your dorm house. Looking around you walked the only path seemingly through the forest before finding yourself in a forest clearing. There you saw a woman in traditional witch’s clothing dressed black with a purple hijab covering her hair sitting on a rather large stone looking up at the moon. You stepped into the clearing and she turned smiling at you before speaking. “I was wondering when I would get my chance in meeting you little brother.” the woman said with an Arabian accent.

You stood confused before she spoke again. “Yes I addressed you as a little brother but then again we are all family here after all the void chose us to remain here after all to guide the next one it chooses.” The woman said smiling. “Who are you? I feel like I have seen you somewhere before but I can’t remember.” The woman laughed before speaking once more. “My name is Naseera el-Salam one of your many predecessors you already met my successor Jean-Marc remember?”

Your eyes shone as you remembered that Naseera el-Salam was the third void elementalist before Jean-Marc. “Why am I meeting you then no offense its an honor but I met my predecessor Dr. Cesar, Jean-Marc, and the first void elementalist Roh'demus Eldric briefly all for different reasons and usually they all gave me responsibility or gifts or something that made my life better or worse.”

The woman laughed before replying. “Yes I guess grandfather was right when he said you would be suspicious of me. But I am here to guide because you are at a very important part in every void elementalist’s life known as The Search.” You raised any brow before she continued.

“As I am sure your aware your predecessor little Cesar he was gifted by the void the knowledge of Storm, Light and Dark magic the void gave him the knowledge of this magic because it deemed him worthy of the knowledge.”

You looked at her questioningly before speaking. “But what about you, Jean-Marc, Roh'demus Eldric, and Leanan Ó Gealbháin why didn’t the void gift any you knowledge of magic?”

At this she smiled before speaking again. “Because we didn’t want such knowledge you see we wanted to be remembered in history for what we did not the magic we wielded or the power we had now. That doesn't mean that little Cesar wanted power quite the opposite he wanted none of it but the void deemed him worthy of it and he simply accepted it and there is nothing wrong with that either but when the void offers you the secrets of magic you need to know that you do have a choice in fact you already carry secret magical knowledge.” As Naseera pointed to your pocket watch.

“What should I expect then from the void a test or trial of some kind or what?” You asked. “Naseera nodded her head before speaking. “That is something not even I know as I never experienced The Search but I tell you from what little Cesar has told me from his trials you must be ready for your trial could come at any time or any hour and there are no second chances you will be either deemed worthy by the void or not worthy of the secrets of the void.”

“But then why the secrets of Time Magic I don’t remember a trial or a test of any kind at all!” Naseera smiled once more before speaking. “Yes you are correct little brother there was no trial nor a test because you passed the test or trial long before the void even prepared your test or trial it saw something in you that even you failed to see a quality or attribute that aroused its interest. Keep on this path little brother and don’t allow anyone to drive you off this path.”

Soon Naseera dissolved into a swarm of blue butterflies flying into the night sky leaving you all alone.
