Chapter 6 by Syloren
Which door?
A Door That Looks...Heavenly?
The choices before you are dizzying in number, but one stands out amongst the rest. It's a brilliant white and gold, it looks like it could've been taken out of a depiction of Heaven. It's out of place to say the least, not that the other doors aren't strange but you can't think of something less 'Haunted House' than something so bright and shiny. You go through the door, it's practically calling to you.
The inside of the room is just like the door, an eye searing sea of whites and golds. You have to squint it's so bright, the room is fairly bare with one noticeable exception. A figure is strung up in a spread eagle position, its' arms and legs shackled by chains that suspend it in the air by a few feet. As your eyes adjust and you get closer you get a better look at the figure, it is vaguely masculine although lacking in any real details and looks as if it were made of weathered gray stone.
"Child...help me..." A voice rasps, the figure has no mouth but it seems to originate from it. You look around the room and see something - an object of jagged black metal in the back corner that you somehow didn't notice before. It almost looks like an axe, when you pick it up it feels surprisingly light although you're afraid to touch anything other than the handle. You look back to the figure, frowning as you try to figure out what could possible be the inspiration for this bizarre exhibit.
Free the figure?
