What Happens To Batgirl?

Lights Out

The redheaded crimefighter suddenly spasmed in the midst of licking Lois Lane's slit. Batgirl's eyes rolled up in her head, whole body shaking with uncontrollable tremors...and then collapsed, utterly limp, her head back in the reporter's lap but the mouth no longer active.

Lois poked the redhead with her free. She didn't respond. The reporter looked at the chip she had ripped out. There was blood and strands of red hair on the end of a wicked-looking metal spike.

"Oh, please tell me I didn't just kill Batgirl," Lois whispered as she leaned forward.

Grunting with effort, the reporter hauled the limp ragdoll of a heroine up onto the bed. Batgirl's eyes were still rolled up in her head, but she was still breathing. Lois put a hand to the younger woman's wrist and carefully counted her pulse. Strong and steady. Leaning over her, Lois lifted up the hair near the base of her skull.

There was a little hole there, some blood, but the wound didn't seem to be actually bleeding...so that was...good.

"Okay. Not dead. Just...lights out." The reporter shook herself. This is not what she had signed up for, but now she was faced with a decision. Leave the helpless heroine here, or go out and try to figure out what was going on. Obviously it was something nefarious if it involved these little microchips embedded in people's skulls.

Lois quickly started to run through several scenarios. Maybe she could carry Batgirl out into the hallway, claim something went wrong...but then she would be a witness, one they'd want to get rid of quickly. Just leave her in the room? But the heroine was utterly out of it; leaving a warm body defenseless in a brothel hardly seemed like a good idea either.

Just as Lois was about to make a decision, it was made for her.

A heavy hand knocked at the door. "Room service!" a muffled feminine voice called.
