Everyone is going to the mall

"So yeah, a bunch of us are going to the mall and I wanted to know if you would come with."

Lucy's eyes are wide and focused as she uses the heels of her shoes to undo the lock on her locker, but is shocked into making a wrong turn at Derek's question. "What?" She looks up at the second smartest kid in school, who's also probably third most handsome, and definitely richest. The inherited privilege of their perfect babies would be staggering.

"Oh, unless you don't want to. Here." He reaches for the lock. "What's the number I'll do it for you."

"Oh 09-18-23."

"Nine, eighteen, and twenty-three. There we go." He pops the lock for her, and holds the door open.

Lucy blushes and grabs her bag as best she can with her shoe clad hands. "No, I want to for sure. I'm just surprised is all." She holds her shoes up to her face. "Wasn't sure anyone would want to date me with these."

He waves her concerns away like a true gentleman. "No worries, I wouldn't care if you actually had feet for hands."

"Aww."

You smirk and walk away from your snooping position, and let those two crazy kids pursue their romance in their own way. People were starting to get used to the weirdness around school, and getting on with their lives. It was inspiring to see. Some people didn't even look at Stella any more as she waddled down the hallway naked and jiggling. Those people had no blood flowing through their veins, you figured.

So Lucy and Derek were heading to the mall, and so were Chad and Lacey. Lacey and Lucy, someone really messed up when they put two people with such similar names in the same story.
