Chapter 20

How do you respond?
No. Obviously.
You raise your eyebrows.
"No." you state very firmly. Like there was any doubt. Why the hell would you wipe out your own city. Even if you weren't human anymore. Okay so you didn't actually live in the city anymore, and your didn't really have any close friends, but still. No way. What was even the point.
"No?"
The word pieces your thoughts and worms its way down your spine.
Your dorsal fin and back archers in response and you rise out of the water. Instinctively wanting to have a better view of the Lich. So you could better react.
"Not even for an exchange?"
This time it is only plain words and you relax slightly. But still wary, you grit your teeth and stare stonily back at the figure on the raft. etherial eyes glowing beneath the cowl which rest on artfully curved horns.
"I could give anything thee desires."
This time it penetrates you like a physical thing. and you feel the words throbbing through your body and your wilting dick strains once more.
You gasp shakily, for a second distracted. But your webbed ears flare and your thoughts gather.
"I have no interest in wiping out humanity. What's the point?" You answer back stoically.
"The ponit...?" You feel something probe your thought's. Your gills flare and the feeling subsides.
"Does thee mean, for what reason?" The Lich asks. The flames flaring and flickering.
You nod, crossing your arms. Why are you here again, negotiating with this horned Lich.
"Life beckons me. I hunger for it, to some measure I require it to sustain myself. But what truly calls me is the passion it holds. Human lives, feeble things, but they quiver with such emotion at the sight of me and my creations.
The flames in its eye sockets flicker and flare with desire and you shudder at its words. That physiological resonance slipping into its words.
"You would have my life too then, would you not? After I've given you what you want." You say bitterly. This negotiation is pointless. The both of you are on completely different pages.
The Horned Lich bows slowly its head where it sits on the raft. The cowl obscuring the baleful light of its eyes.
"I can fell thee."
It whispers, but the words caress your body gently.
"Thy passion"
The unworldly touch rises towards your throat and up each side of your face to your webbed ears that flick, dispelling the sensation.
"Thy fear"
A pressure settles in your gut, fluttering like butterflies and your gills flare uneasily as you wave your pectoral fins and back away slightly.
"Thy anger"
The illusory pressure curls around your dorsal fin, then dips into the blowhole. You gasp, straightening out of the water, gills flaring.
"They pleasure"
You grab for your cock preemptively. webbed fingers curling around it in a vice like grip. But still you feel the words coil around your heated flesh then down. Down to trace the edges of the slit between your pelvic fins.
Your webbed gills flare and water spurts from your blowhole.
"I said, stop it!" You snarl before your splash back into the water.
In the silence of the water you mind clears. You look at the shadow cast by the raft.
The water soothes your nerves and grudgingly you peek your head up over the waters surface. It would've no other choice but to talk to you telepathically if you remained under water, after all.
The figure on the raft had edged closer to the edge. The flaming gaze met yours and it seems to hesitate momentarily before continuing in a more common voice.
"Where others are like a candle's flame, thee are a beacon in the night." The Lich continues stintingly. Perhaps you are imagining it but you think it sounds slightly peeved at having been interrupted. But this is a negotiation.
"So you have even more reason to pursue my life." You respond trying to deliberately sound unimpressed. Beneath the water, your fins stir uneasily, however.
The flames in the empty eye sockets flare.
" Thee missunderstands. I could not so easily consume thy life-****."
"Yet you want to consume a city's worth of lives" You retort back sharply.
"Smothering a thousand candles is a simple feat given enough bodies. Smothering an inferno is hardly the same task, would thee not agree?"
You fall silent, beginning to see the reasoning behind this life-**** business.
"Regardless. I would not want to see tens of thousands of lives snuffed out for the sake of feeding your appetite." You finally answer. There really was only one answer to this.
"I will not help you."
The flames in those sockets dim and the horned Lich lowers its head.
"Will you not reconsider?"
You begin silently sinking beneath the water's surface in response. Warily eyeing the undead. Watching out for any tricks it might pull.
"You have your answer, Please leave me alone now."
Well, does it do anything or can you leave unmolested?
