Does Anything Happen To Lois On The Way Home?
Someone Jumps Lois For Her Bag
Back on the street. After midnight. This was Metropolis, not Gotham; the streets were well lit, for the most part, and though the alleys were dark there were still places open, cars going down the street. The new tattoo on her finger was a throb, the numbing cream filtering out the worst of the pain. Lois Lane was tired and had her mind set on home, where she could safely go through the folder in her new bag.
Maybe that was what made her a little careless. A woman alone, walking the streets at night...dressed as she was, Lois thought it was lucky she wasn't mistaken for a prostitute. She was almost within sight of her building when a dark form lurched out of the alley, grabbed the strap of the bag.
Lois Lane's eyes went wide, and she instinctively grabbed at it—with her left hand. The strap bit into her finger through the bandage, and Lois hissed in pain as there was a brief tug of war. She could see her attacker clearly: young, twenties, white, with the kind of then pockmarked face and bad teeth that spoke of a meth addict. The eyes were an ugly shade of brown...and then they stepped forward, grabbed the reporter's wrist, and still holding the strap punched the reporter's closed left hand with their fist.
The reporter's mouth opened in a wordless howl of pain, too shocked to even scream as the thief ripped the handbag out of her grasp, released her wrist, and fled into the night.
The reporter stood there in shock and pain, leaning against the nearest wall. Her left hand felt broken, and the bag...the files...everything she had sold herself for fled down the street.
But not out of sight.
Grimly, Lois Lane began to run after the thief. Heels weren't the best thing to run in at the best of time, and the reporter kicked them off, running in her bare feet, not caring about scraping her soles on the concrete. The thief had a good lead, and manic energy, but the Daily Planet's greatest reporter ran miles in the gym every day, and not just to keep the weight off. She had run marathons before, and would again. Within half a block she was gaining on him...
He turned into an alley, Lois Lane followed blindly, all focus on her target. She didn't care about the pain in her hand, or the cold cum running down her legs, the way her breasts jiggled in her shirt without a sports bra. The thief turned briefly and caught sight of his pursuer, and put on more speed, turning another corner, but Lois was gaining...
Onto a high street, leading up one of Metropolis's hills, and there were glass windows to Lois Lane's right. She caught her reflection in them and saw that the thief was half a block ahead and almost to the park. If he got in there, amid the trees, there was no way she could catch him.
Briefly, Lois remembered what Blaze had said...and panting hard, heart hammering, spit gummy in her mouth, she stared again at her reflection in the glass.
Does Lois Call Upon Blaze?
