A Life Of Its' Own !

The calendar idea began to take on a life of its' own as Charlotte ran with the idea, leaving Debbi and Carol with little chance for second thoughts about backing out. In her admin capacity, Carol had confirmed with their regular printers that they could handle the order but the other arrangements were in the hands of her daughter, who was pestering Debbi with frequent phone calls. "Where are we going to take the photos ?" Charlotte asked. "Er, um" Debbi dithered. "Well, the concept we have is that they should be taken in your office, showing the normal working environment that clients will be used to and how you are all busy and professional even with no clothes on !" Charlotte interjected. "Er, yes, well, OK, fine" agreed Debbi.

"Have you thought about props and poses ?" Charlotte continued. Debbi hadn't thought at all ! "No matter, Ravi's very professional. We know how much or how little we can show. He'll direct the shoot !"

"Er, right, fine" said Debbi dubiously. "Tell mum to put us in the diary for next Wednesday, we'll need at least a two hour slot !"

That following Wednesday, Debbi was just winding up a meeting with the manager of the car repair chain she hoped to extend their contract with, when there was a commotion at the door. "It's Charlotte and Ravi" Carol explained, though that didn't explain the amount of noise. "Sorry about that Roy, we're going to shoot a calendar to give to our clients for the new year" continued Debbi as the client stood. The manager's interest was piqued. "Will it be one of 'those' calendars Deb ?" he asked with a leer. "That's for us to know and you to find out" flirted Debbi, realising that if they were going to pursue this idea, she had better get used to the idea and make the most of the promotional possibilities.

As Roy left, he had to squeeze past a blockage at the door caused by lighting equipment and camera accessories. Charlotte and Ravi were accompanied by three others; Charlotte's friend Hannah and two youths Carol did not know. "I didn't know you were coming, I thought it was just Ravi. And what are these doing here ?" she asked her daughter. "We're all on the course and it's a great opportunity for us to get experience. And think of the money we're saving you on paying out for a professional" Charlotte replied. "But what are they doing ?" Carol continued to probe as the three newcomers began moving the equipment into the office, which seemed to shrink in dimensions as the crowd grew. "They're going to film a 'making of' video" said Charlotte casually.
