Ring of Fire

It was decided we would play the drinking game Ring of Fire. Being new to drinking and new to drinking games I hadn't played it before. I would later learn this was a game I should expect to play at nearly every pre-drinks and house party from here on out.

Jake briefly explained the rules, as he placed a jug in the middle of the table and made a ring with the cards face down around it.

Jake: 'Everyone takes it in turn, grab a card from the ring and that card correspond with what you have to do. But don't break the ring or you have to drink the shit mix in the jug'

He continued to briefly explain what each card meant, although I figured I would pick it up once we started playing.

We all got the hang of the game easy enough, there was some confusion with what cards meant but the game was doing it job, the drinks were flowing and everyone was having a good time. After the first round in which Kish lost, he had to neck the shit mix as it was called from the jug in the middle. Josh at this point had finished his 2 beers and made an exit before he got dragged into the impending drunken mess. Annie who was visibly a little tipsy now, gave him a quick peck on the lips as he went and then next round started.

Most of the cards you pulled would result in someone or everyone drinking, the most interesting card though was the Jack. If you get a Jack it meant you got to make a rule for the rest of the game. Initially, these were things like cant use first names, no pointing and the word Drink was banned. Lauren, the petite girl, was the one who decided to change tact a little. Now for the duration of this game, every time you had to drink you had to kiss the person on your right somewhere on the bare skin.

It was obvious to everyone else why she made the rule, she had sat down between Jake and the Clarky, I had completely forgotten his first name since they had been banned earlier in the game. They were both your standard lads, Jake the leader though. Having clearly spent some money on their clothes and they seemed in my view too concerned about coming across the top dog and attracting the opposite sex, but harmless enough really. Either way, it was working on Lauren as she had been overtly flirting with Jack all night.

As the game proceeded, Laura seemed to make every attempt to lose and have a drink. Despite her attempts, Jake wasn't bitting. That seemed to only intensify her efforts as she landed her last kiss on his lips. Still, nothing from Jake but he shot a cocky look at the rest of us afterwards.

When it next came round to my turn to drink I had Emma sitting on my right, she had been making sarcastic comments all night and while I think she was having fun, clearly didn't think Laura's overt attempts to get with Jake were anything but shallow and ****. With that in mind, I decided to play it safe and just kissed her hand.

Gem: 'Always the gentlemen Alex'

Emma gave me a look as if to say thank you afterwards. Good, I thought to myself. I have the impression I don't want to get on the bad side of her.

The funniest moment was when Kish and Clarky realised they were sat next to each other. Kish had to drink but first had to kiss Clarky. The girls, even Emma at this point were egging them on. Kish though taking a note of from me early opted just to kiss his hand.

Everyone: 'BOOO!'

Emma: 'but they look so sweet together'

The two of them quickly separated and shuffled awkwardly as the rest of us laughed our asses off. Things continued like that for a little while longer, most people just planting a quick kiss on the hand or arm.

It was now a fairly tipsy Annie's turn to drink, with me sat on her right. I offered my hand expecting her to just kiss it as I had for Emma. Instead of kissing my hand she took hold of it and leaned into my neck. From this angle, I could down her top, just a little but it was an amazing feeling nonetheless. She then planted a kiss on my neck to my surprise. I didn't know how to react, it wasn't overtly sexual or anything but I still felt awkward knowing she was with Josh. Despite that, I was pretty sure he wouldn't mind and see the funny side. It didn't stop the feeling my cock hardening in my jeans a little though.

Gem: 'He may look like your boyfriend but he's not you know girl'

Gem was only teasing, but Annie quickly withdrew quickly. She had a guilty look as if knowing that maybe she crossed a line. As she did though her hand knocked the ring of cards in the middle, she had broken the circle. That meant she had to drink the shit mix from the jug in the middle. the others started to sing as Annie grabbed the jug and gave me a wary smile glad for the quick distraction.

The others: 'Weee like to drink with Annie, Cause Annie is our mate, and when we drink with any she downs her Drink is 8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1...'

A chorus of cheers followed, Annie hadn't quite managed to drink it all and quite a bit had missed her mouth but it was the effort that counted at the end of the day.

We didn't play another round after that one, it was nearing 11 and so would be heading to the SU soon. Annie looked like the last round had taken its toll on her. So it wasn't surprising when she rather drunkenly announced that she would be heading back to her room to sleep. With that done, she got up and made her way out of flat 205. I decided to follow her to check she was alright. I caught up with her just outside our door, shouting at it.

Me: 'It's a pull, not a push, you know'

Annie flipped me off as she pulled the door open and headed into our flat. Satisfied that she had got back to ours, I rejoined the others in 205 where everyone was ready to head on out to the SU.
