Bullies

“Hey, kid in the diaper!” Lauren heard a young voice behind her say. Turning around, Lauren saw three immature eighteen year olds standing behind her. The girl who spoke, a redhead, looked Lauren in the eye and continued, “This is our sandbox! Beat it!”

“It’s a big box,” Lauren said, rolling her eyes, “we can all use it. Besides, this is the playground's sandbox, I don’t see your name written on it.”

“I said, “Get out of our sandbox’.” The redheaded girl scowled.

“And I said, “Not a chance, you stupid little brat'.” Lauren countered, not believing that she was getting into an argument with a eighteen year old who was acting this immature.

The redheaded girl's friends – a girl with brown hair and a girl with blonde, curly hair – gasped in shock. The redheaded girl on the other hand merely grabbed Lauren’s pigtail and pulled, earning a yelp from the little woman.

“You must be new to this playground, so I’m going to let you know a few things.” The redheaded girl said, surprisingly making Lauren feel a little uneasy. “I’m Louise Tenor; Queen of the Playground! These are my friends, Tammy White and Carrie Brown. Together, we rule this playground because my mom’s the Mayor. So if I we want to use some of the swings, then three kids need to leave the swing set. If we want to use the slide, the kids let us go down first and use it as long as we want until we get bored. And if we want to use the sandbox, then you need to be like a good baby and do as you’re told! Do you understand?”

“Um,” Lauren began nervously, “look, I’ve been having a really bad day today. So, could you, maybe, not pull my hair? And maybe we could share the sandbox? Just this once?”

“I don’t think she understands, Louise.” Tammy, the brunette, said while shaking her head.

“I think we should show her what we mean by “Queens of the Playground’.” The blonde, Carrie, said with a smirk.

“You want to play in the sandbox, baby?” Louise asked, “Okay then, but you asked for it!”

Louise then pushed Lauren forward, causing her to yelp before landing in the sand face first; crushing her sand castle in the progress. Lauren raised her head up and spat the sand out of her mouth. But these delinquents were not done with her yet.
