Chapter 85 by Drakavius Drakavius

Do They?

They Enter the Ceremonial Chamber

What had been a spacious ballroom utilized normally for large events and galas now sat largely vacant. The walls a black marble appearing to twinkle and shine, lines of gold and silver veining across the polished stone, the floor a black obsidian slab, the ceiling and other details of the room largely obscured beyond the flickering-coloured flames casting light from their 30' diameter in the center of the room.

Glenda was busy, her familiar in tow, inscribing the white lines on the floor. Already she had spent two days on the complex geometry and inscriptions of the transmutation circle. Something she had found herself cumming repeatedly at the thought of as she combined her arcana with the ancient archaic knowledge the Idol bestowed her with.

The ouroboros replacing the circle on the seal of Solomon, each point of which was in turn a squaring the circle. Symbolic runes of assorted ancient empowering tongues wove amongst the lines aside the most ancient runes of the Idol. Ones long ago expelled from existence for the power they could possess.

Every second point rotated between a dish of water, or a brazier of a different coloured flame. Notations of their elemental opposition, their overlap in the center embodying the macrocosm and elements of earth and air.

Emily, her sisters and mother fanned out around the elaborate art, admiring the ornate work being artistically and ceremoniously laid out.

Standing up with a sultry moan of pleasure Glenda smiled at her audience. Slowly and devotedly standing up and approaching bowing her head slightly.

“It is truly a privilege to meet you.” Glenda softly remarked eyeing the demonic women up and down. “Do you like it? I’ve conjured this ceremony based on ancient transmutations, demonic summonings, and spiritual invocations.”

The inspiration for what was being done to Emi had come to Glenda the night she had been changed, many hours and contemplations put into new studies of long forbidden knowledge she was the latest in a long line to safeguard.

Marissa was their first attempt, a new revolutionary tool to circumvent many of the protections against their soulless legions. One which failed, yet was still necessary for the next iteration.

“What’s it for exactly?” Terryl asked as she examined the still bowl of water in the center of one point curiously while being careful not to step within the bounds of the emblem.

Sensing a potency to the markings despite not understanding them.

“Your ascendent confirmation.” Glenda replied manically stopping to think of how to clarify it in response to the perplexed gazes. “Our worldly domain sits in a conflux at the mercy of multiple influences beyond our perception and understandings of this reality. The Idol’s domain has touched upon ours, blessing people and places with miracles.” Pausing for a second Glenda tried to think of a way to describe what was going on without tying back too much to the women’s prior religious faiths from which they were being converted.

“Is that an alchemy circle?” Monica asked thinking about her exposure to alchemy through Fullmetal Alchemist.

“It's more than just that.” Glenda smiled, appreciating the recognition.

“Alchemy?” Caroline asked sounding somewhat skeptical, in her head she had to admit it had to be credible. Demons clearly were, what other purported dark powers existed out there beyond the mundane sanction of the common religions.

“Most mortals can only be infused with a finite amount of the Idol’s blessing. We’re about to change that.” It was another succubus that had just entered the room, another one with feathered black wings smiling broadly behind her, content to be free to roam about the building in her supernatural form.

As the sister succubi approached the circle Marissa turned and smiled to Glenda, “I hope this goes better than the last time I was called for.” Marissa remarked with a smirk, glancing at her sister as Glenda rolled her head back.

“Look, I’m sorry about that. Now, how about some of that soulful magic.” Glenda remarked casually nodding over at the circle.

Marissa smirked knowingly; Glenda’s soul had been intentionally ripped out without completely being relinquished by the Idol. She had been a threat, one which had spent its time since devotely focussing on how to negate the other threats to the Idol’s revival.

Without a soul though many magics were now beyond Glenda’s personal ability, something the Idol rectified when it shackled Marissa’s soul to aid in Glenda’s research and planning.

Casually strutting up to the circle Marissa crouched down laying two hands in the fine powder used to inscribe the ornate pattern on the floor. With a flash of light, the powder ignited as if a line of gun powder used for a fuse. As the smoke cleared in its wake the pattern was revealed embossed with gold in the floor.

As Emi and her family gazed with wonder at the display the First Witness hung back, opening the door he nodded to the brown lupine demon standing guard outside the door.

“Get the final items.”

What are the final items?
