Checks on Jessica

Dani held her breath as she took the story in. "What do you think they are?" she asked. Elise shrugged. "I don't know. Some say demons. Some say angels. I think it depends on how you look at them." Dani shivered, and not from the story. It was cold in there. Her nipples poked through the thin tanktop her aunt had lent her.

"Its cold down here. Don't they let you have any heat?" she said, trying to change the subject that she had no answer to.

"Its the catacombs. Lots of your family is buried right behind that wall." Elise said, pointing to a wallpapered wall that lay beside the maid's bed. Dani stared at it and felt the breeze. She felt it inside her, even as she asked. "Do they...live in the catacombs?"
Elise glanced at the wall, and then back at her. "So they say." she said, and would say no more.

Danielle frowned. She realized that no noise had come from the upstairs in a while. "I need to go check on her." she said. Elise nodded without looking at her. Danielle stood up and left the room, went through the kitchen, and up the stairs quietly. When she was sure their was no noise coming from her aunt's room, she opened the door.
