Nightly Incident

( Neku's POW.)

The sun's starting to set as you enter a clearing, carrying an unconscious Raichu on your back. Ever since the incident, he hasn't regained consciousness for a while. The other two started to panic, especially the Pachirisu child. You explained to her that her brother is fine, that he's just resting. That still didn't make her feel better. You understand her concern though, it’s clear those two are very fond of each other and Rai has come to her rescue twice. Rachael came to her and calmed her down, which seems to work. You're happy at that, you had no idea about how to deal with kids.

You set the campfire up as Rachael lets her friend's sleeping bag on the ground. With that, you place him on it. You can hear his breathing, so nothing's wrong. The Buneary places her paw on Rai's forehead, checking for fevers. Kate hugs his neck tightly, silently crying.

"He's gonna be alright you two, so relax.. " You try to reassure them.

Rachael looks at you, concern filled in her eyes as she replies, "I sure hope so." She takes another look at Rai, who hasn't made any movements after the strange transformation. One moment he was strong when it happened, but when he reverted back however, he passed out moments after.

"Rai! Wake up! Please wake up!" Kate keeps shaking his shoulder. His sister has been constantly trying to get her brother up. You shakily place your paw on her shoulder as you try to comfort her. "He's o-okay! Just sleeping."

She looks at you with sad eyes. "Anybody would wake up when someone shakes them." Kate answers, unconvinced by your answer. You flinched, not expecting that, but you thought fast and answered, "When one's extremely exhausted, they sleep a little longer than usual. He'll wake up soon." I hope. He'll wake up, but when? You thought that quietly.

Everyone just hoped you would come around soon.(it took some effort to convince Kate to separate from her brother.) Everyone gathered some apples and berries from their packs, since only Rai can cook. Everyone ate in silence. Kate constantly checks up on him to see if he's done anything. Having to carry the unconscious Raichu and being cautious about the area slowed you down for one more night where you all would’ve made it by sun down.

Rachael looks at him and asks, "You said you saw what happened to Rai before. Where? and What's it called?"

You believed it's best to explain it to them now. "Rai has just achieved mega-evolution." Rachael ears perked while Kate stares confused.

"Mega-evolution?" Kate asked.

"I can answer that." Neku turns to Kate. "Mega-evolution is the ability that allows certain Pokémon to evolve further than normally. In order to do so, those who are capable need two types of stones. A mega stone for the Pokémon can mega-evolve, and a key stone for the person to use. Two Pokémon are required to achieve this. I heard little about this, but I never thought a Raichu had one." Everyone just shrug their heads.

A noise brakes the silence. You turn your head towards the direction. "There's someone nearby! I'm going to take a look!" You say, getting up.

Rachael gets up as well. "Let me come with you-" "No!" You answer, cutting her off. "You stay here with Kate. She needs someone she knows with her to comfort her. I'll be back." She's hesitant, but doesn't say a word as you go.

Then she speaks, "Why are you-" she was unable to finish again before you say." 'It was the right thing to do.' Your friend said that."

Neku walked through the forest, keeping an eye on whatever made that noise moments ago. As he goes, he can't help but recall that battle at the town yesterday. They were searching for anything they could bring back to camp then all of the sudden, they were ambushed by the infected. Two of his members were eaten and he would've joined them if it wasn't for those kids.

It was one thing to defeat them and drive them off, but also to say it was out of good intentions. Usually when one helps another, usually they want something from you. Trade or robbery, it depends.. Neku thinks about Rai. He says he intends to stay in the camp, but the look in his eyes tells him he’s been thinking about something serious. You think he's kind of crazy, but he's not stupid that's for certain. He fought very well with the Grumpig, despite the blindness and was clever in defeating that Ursaring.

"I don't know why," He starts off. "But I feel like he won’t be staying long. In fact, he reminds me of the others. Though with him, I think he's got what it takes." They'll be a camp soon at this rate, The Zoroark ponders what he'll do after they gets there.

A quick snap was heard nearby. Neku reacts and hides by a nearby tree. He looks to see a Mr. Mine nearby. He turned, showing his purple eyes. ‘He's close to the camp!’ he realized. ‘I need him gone.’

With that, he closes his eyes and pictures himself as a Mienfoo. The infected sense something and turns to see a small fighting type behind him. seeing an easy prey, it launches a confusion at him, only to flow off him painlessly. The mime blinked in confusion before he struck him with a shadow claw. The infected collapses.

After that's over, you drop the illusion and ponder what to do with him. He's too close to camp and it's not safe to move outside at night. With that you decided that voring the psychic type is the only option. You pick it up and bring his head to your mouth. He tasted good. Neku's mouth accommodates his shoulders as he reaches past them. He feels the Pokémon shifting inside him as he starts to stir around.

You gulp again, getting to his stomach. At this, the infected starts to thrash around, trying to escape. Neku keeps a firm grip, and swallows so he's at his thighs. He kicks and squirms as he makes futile attempts to escape. He gulps down his thighs and legs, leaving his feet dangling inside. with that, he swallows one more time, sealing the infected inside him.

Neku sighs and licks his lips, clearly enjoying the infected squirming inside his bloated stomach. Now he wonders how to explain this to the others before he turns to find them behind them, with a horrified expression on their faces. ‘Oh shit.’ Neku thought in his head.
