Trudging through the woods was a gruelling task. Especially with her body practically running on fumes, her throat parched and her stomach empty as she stumbled onward.

Brambles blocked off many paths Allie thought might be liable... so she had to stick to walking on fallen trees to avoid the sharp bushes... this meant she never really reached a destination she set for herself...

As she crossed behind another patch of thick foliage she heard it... running water... a slight trickle... it seemed to be a stream... she made her way towards it, shambling along, trying to reach it quickly... taking in an appreciative breath, she looked briefly at the rune carved into the rock as its brief blue light faded.

This sense of wonder and joy from finding water was interrupted as she turned to look at the twin beasts across the stream from her... they seemed to be feasting on the carcass of an animal... their spindly plant-like tentacles thrashed around, tearing at the meat as they devoured it.

With a shuddering sigh of fear, Allie tried to think calmly. She slid back into the bushes behind her, blocking her view of the beasts and hoping it blocked theirs too.

Then, with her thoughts working on overdrive to try and at least secure her some water, she reached down to grasp a stone. With as much strength as she could muster, she threw it behind her, down the stream and into the brush to try and get their attention.
