Mommy leaves town.....

The first day with your Mom out of town, you come home with a knot in your stomach, nervous that Greg, your stepdad is going to ask you to do the stuff that your Mom made you practice. With your stepdad still at work, you just go about the afternoon as you normally would, pushing that ugly prospect out of your mind. You start to relax until you almost quit worrying entirely. Your Stepdad probably wouldn?t actually want you to do any of that stuff. But then there is still the creeping possibility that one unsuspecting day in the next few weeks, he just might?

When your Stepdad finally comes home, you greet him as casually as you can, ?Hey, Greg.? He smiles a tired smile, answering back, ?Man, I had a tough day. Go get me a beer, would you??

You reply, ?Yeah, sure,? and head to the kitchen while your Stepdad takes his shoes off and tried to get comfy in the living room. You gladly get him a beer from the fridge, realizing that this is probably the type of thing your Mom was mostly talking about when she asked you to take over the womanly duties. As you pop the top off and carry it back to Greg, you worry just a little that you?re also going to have to cook for him. Not that you mind cooking, you just don?t have very much experience with it. You hand your Stepdad his beer. He says, ?Oh, thanks, man,? takes a long swig, and adds, ?Before your Mom went to the airport this morning, she reorganized your dresser so the top two drawers are all girl?s stuff. Go ahead and put something on and come back out here.?

Stunned, you freeze for a moment, then manage a nod and an, ?Okay?? before turning and starting off toward your room. As you walk down the hall, you hear your Stepdad on the couch flipping on the TV to some sit-com with a laugh track. You don?t know how to feel, so you don?t really feel anything?

You just follow the instructions you were given?
