Moonlit Night

After an hour or so of sleeping, Skyler began to stir. His eyes opened slowly, achiness was felt throughout his body from his chosen sleeping spot. However, this feeling was quickly shaken as a light shiver ran down his spine, caused by the cool night air. He softly yawned while looking around. He could have sworn it was brighter earlier. He began to wonder. 'Were there perhaps more clouds in the sky?' Upon looking upward, he began to chuckle. His eyes beheld a beautiful and clear moonlit night sky. He looked down to his hands. They were back to normal. Well, this certain made things clear. He was no longer in Nekojin Form.

Skyler stretched lightly while standing up. If he was going to get home quickly, he was going to need the speed up that Nekojin Form afforded him. After taking a quick look around, he cast Nekojin Form once again. - 200 Mp This caused his body to adjust once again. Unlike last time, he decided to open up his character sheet to see the changes for himself. He blinked several times while looking over the new image of himself. He was certainly thinner, had no body hair, and even had a full head of hair. He was surprised to see that all of his hair was grey. There wasn't a single speck of black, brown, or red anywhere. This even included his facial hair, which normally had trace amounts of those colors.

Skyler felt completely different in this form. He felt so much lighter and healthier. If he didn't know better, he would have sworn he was a different person all together. However, the proof before him was overwhelming. Not only was his stomach so much thinner, but he had paws for crying out loud. This was driven home when he turned slightly to his right and noticed something within his peripheral vision. His long grey tail's tip twitched before it swayed slightly, drawing his full attention.

When Skyler turned more to reach for it, it swayed slightly away from his grasp. His eyes narrowed slightly as he moved his body slightly to his left then right, taking note of how his tail changed directions in accordance to his body's movements. He shook his head, turning his attention away from his tail. He had more important things to do than deal with his tail. When he looked back at his character sheet, he noticed how much his weight had dropped. He originally weighed 215 pounds, but currently weighed only 194. This was about a 10% drop in weight.

This made Skyler wonder if this was a hidden perk of becoming a Nekojin. He looked down slightly as he thought about his own writing. 'When I wrote about transformations in my stories there were hidden perks and drawbacks to be discovered, but its rather odd to deal with them myself.' He looked back up to his character sheet and looked closer at the detailed display of himself. When he opened his mouth, so too did the displayed image of him. He saw all of his teeth had changed. It was like peering into his cat's mouth. He had only razor sharp teeth, but they were sparkly clean.

Skyler licked his lips gently and nodded to himself as he thought. 'That would explain why that duck looked so tasty. I can only digest meat.' He let out a soft sigh as he realized he needed to be more aware of his body's desires. He wouldn't want to end up chasing a laser pointer's dot or another duck. That would be rather embarrassing. He closed his character sheet before smiling to himself and began to purr softly. He had this Nekojin thing down for sure. With this out of the way, he began to jog home.

Over the next thirty minutes Skyler made his way homeward, doing his best to avoid being seen. Sadly, there were a few points at which this was unavoidable. During times like these, he changed back to being human. By the third time that this had occurred, two new red exclamations flashed that he allowed to pop up.

Nekojin Form has increased from level 1 to 2 - Purring restorative rate has increased from 1% to 2%.

Nekojin Form has obtained a new ability.

Ferocious Leap - Range 5 to 10 yd

Cost: 5 Mp

Leap at the target ready to strike and deal 5 damage + (Strength + Agility).

If the target hasn't moved out of the 3 yd targeted area, instantly chains into another two normal strikes.

If either strike critically hits, strike an additional two times. (This effect can proc only once per cast.)

10 second cooldown.

Special note: Cooldown is reset, if the target dies within 1 second of its final strike.

Skyler's eyes widened as he read all of that. If he read that correctly, Ferocious Leap could cause a total of five strikes. That was certainly an appropriate name for that ability. After brushing those pop ups from his view, he made his way toward the final intersection, separating him from his home. Upon reaching it, he switched back to his human form before crossing the intersection. After making it to the other side, he saw an ambulance driving hastily down his street. He only had a moment to realize that its lights were on as it made a California stop before driving away.

Skyler blinked twice as he watched it drive away, wondering who else was being dragged off to the hospital. He shook his head and made his way back to his home. Once there, he unlocked his bedroom door before entering. However, something seemed off. Upon entering, he saw his brother Koby sitting there with his head down, looking rather somber. This caused Skyler to wonder what was the matter. Did this have something to do with the ambulance? Or was it something else?
