The prototype.

You decide retrieving the prototype is probably the most straight forward. You read over the file and see the item is in this building in a vault on the 50th floor. You look at the massive hole cut in the window and smile, ?Not exactly small eh?? You say quietly in your new gruff voice and simply step into the building. Suddenly you pick up movement out of the corner of your eye and pull your knife in a blur of motion and send it flying across the room, impaling a small sentry bot and pinning it to the wall some 2? behind it. ?Sweet.? You think to yourself and peer around the room as you retrieve your knife.

Seeing no movement you head out down the hall of the office building to the central lab room where the prototype is said to be held. You reach the door and see it is protected by a keypad lock. Drawing on a bit of skill you didn?t know you had, you use the tip of your blade to pop off the cover and quickly and deftly work with the wiring till the door slides quietly open. As soon as the door slides open however you see two guards dressed in heavy ballistic plate armor and carrying submachine guns. You kick in the reflex boost with a thought and suddenly the world moves in slow motion. You hear a blur of words from the guards as you race toward the first. ?Let?s see just how strong I am.? You think as you reach the first guard, with a lunging thrust you spike the long hard blade of your knife right through the armored face plate of his armor as if it was made of paper and pin his lifeless body to the wall. You instantly realize your mistake however as this leaves your weapon momentarily pinned. You drop to the floor as a stream of bullets rip through the air above you and both of you are surprised at just how fast you are moving, figuring bullets have already been fired and your stealth was blown, you draw your massive pistol and with a wrist shattering blast of recoil you rock your hand back thankful for all the enhancements to your muscles, bone, and armored skin as your hand is unharmed. The guard isn?t quite so lucky as most of his chest is blown out his back, his armor apparently quite meaningless. Then you feel a sword blade slash at your back and do a quick roll forward and use the guard to block this new attack. The blow shatters his helmet and you further impede the attack by tossing the body onto your attacker as you step away and wrench your knife out of the wall letting the first guard slide to the floor. Your opponent tosses the lifeless guard out of the way and looks you over. You flash your opponent a toothy grin as you look him over, he stands there wearing an immaculately tailored business suit holding a long double bladed sword that hums softly in his hand. He stands just over 6? with short neat blond hair and strong Germanic features.

?What ever you are here for you will pay for with your life orc.? He states flatly as he sets upon you with a blur of motion with a massive downward thrust. You meet his attack with your thick knife and are surprised at just how strong he really is.

You lift your pistol in your other hand to his belly and answer with a gruff laugh, ?Sorry bub, I was paid to retrieve that prototype for my master and I plan to leave with it.? Your eyes race around the room for your target and as you finish your sentence you see the item from the file. A nondescript looking tablet computer who?s function you can?t even guess. You sense his movement in just enough time to save yourself. As you fire your massive pistol he twists away and slides his blade down the length of yours in an attempt to cut your hand from your body. You counter by lifting a massive knee that he can?t ignore and he hops back causing his blow to only graze your hand. With a bit of distance between the two of you, you opt to bring up your pistol, but sadly you realize the recoil is just a bit too great to be affective against an opponent this fast at this close of range. After your second shot he is on you again and the two of you exchange a couple of thrusts and parries. He is silent as he relentlessly attacks you sensing he has the advantage with his longer sword and greater speed and in a flurry of action you are pressed back. Suddenly the wall where the smg bullets pounded earlier erupts with sparks and fire sending both of you leaping apart in mutual defense. Luck is apparently on your side and you pick the tablet off the table. However he stands in front of the only exit you know to be safe. Throwing caution to the wind you slam through the door behind you and you enter a large room that apparently is the remainder of this floor. Your eyes instantly scan the room and see 15 guards much like the two in the last room as well as feeling the German breathing down your neck. As you run the guards open fire much as you thought they would and you see the German dive to the floor so as not to be caught in the streams meant for you. You are across the room in an instant and with the final bullet in your gun you explode the window and you sail out the window 50 stories off the pavement apparently to your ****. With a rush of adrenaline you smile a wide toothy grin and activate the tiny glider wing attached to the back of your tiny backpack you somehow instinctively knew was there and silently descend into what your internal computer tells you is the area of the city known as the combat zone. You take a moment to scan the tablet and just as you suspected you find a tiny transmitter attached to it. Knowing they know where you are you race away into the night much slower now as the readout in your vision tells you your reflex boost is currently in cool down status.

Two blocks later you see some possible means of escape.

To the left ahead you see what looks like a brothel.

To the right and down the street the lights of a 24hr. food shack has several motorcycles parked in front.

In the distance ahead you see several residential units.

Or several buildings around seem vacant but your ears tell you are far from unoccupied.
