A Menagerie of Heroes

The intruder didn't even get very far down the hall when he found his path blocked by several different heroes, ready for a rumble. He smirked and cracked his knuckles. The green, flaming heroine Fire took the initiative and attacked first. But bathing the villain in light green flames didn't hurt him much, if at all... He just smiled and walked slowly against the inferno towards the barricade.

Meanwhile, you walk out of the storage building and saw a Javelin descending from above. It landed next to you, firing 4 small thrusters from the undercarriage as a ramp unfolded to let you in. "Partner, are we glad we found you!" said a panicky Vigilante.

"Our fortress is under attack!" Sir Justin informed. "The Martian has summoned us to defend it. Hurry." So you ran up the ramp to get inside and ran to the cockpit as the cowboy took off again, recalling the ramp.

As they took off into the sky, you were frustrated with yourself... You knew the case was too strange to be a coincidence, but Luthor's plan unveiled itself, regardless... "Luthor and Mercy must've set the whole thing up... And now, if we don't stop that thing, he's gonna destroy the League."

"I'll be hornswoggled..." Vigilante murmured.

"We'll stop that monstrosity," Sir Justin promised. "The League shall not perish." Vigilante called ahead to land in the docking bay, and J'onn did his best to respond. Given the immediate threat already aboard the Watchtower... As soon as they landed and the ramp once again unfolded, you three raced out of the hangar and down the halls, seeing the mangled bodies of defeated heroes. Even Supergirl's...

The villain finally made it to the bridge, where the Martian was joined with his founder friends. "This is as far as you go," said Superman firmly. "Stand down."

"Right," the guy replied sarcastically. "Because after I've gone to such lengths to get here, pummeling any hero that stood in my way, I should just get on my knees, at your mercy." He scoffed snd asked, "Do you even listen to half the things you say?"

"I'm guessing you don't wanna talk it out," Flash offered, then he ran rapidly up to the guy, pounding at his waistline while he ran in circles around him. At that moment, his armor charged up and was coated with electricity which disoriented and hurt Flash, making him run away.

"Pathetic," he snorted. Then it was Stewart's turn, blasting at him with green lasers from his ring. The guy flew up to avoid the blasts, and saw that Wonder Woman had cut him off. But thinking quickly, the villain turned off his boots and dropped down so that the blast almost hit Diana! A second later, he re-engaged his boots and continued flying through the space. Lantern charged at him directly, and the villain bent his suit's fingers back with a hinge joint, spraying a crimson gas in his face as soon as he was close enough. "Take a breather..." He closed his fingers and watched as John Stewart was slowly going nuts...

"Shayera? No! Stop it!" What he was seeing was the Lantern's worst fear: being attacked by the woman he loved, whom betrayed him... Of course he was just flying around aimlessly to the others, blasting phantoms of his mind.

"Lantern!" Batman shouted. "Snap out of it!"

"He can't hear you." At that moment, he fired ice from his eyes and froze Batman into place quickly! "Nothing like a few pick-me-ups to perk me up, too." Wonder Woman flew down and socked him in the jaw, making him stumble back. Meanwhile, J'onn was busy getting Batman out, phasing through the ice to pull him through it. He managed to free his hand, but Diana couldn't hold the villain at bay for she was knocked into the Martian. Superman then cut him off before he could get near either of them, blasting him with heat vision and forcing him off the bridge. Then Clark closed the gap between him and the villain.

"Who are you?"

"Call me IMP," he smirked.
