At Your Own Game

Parasite lost his claws as he channeled the ramming strength of a rhino and stampeded towards you. You push Harley out of the way, and then... played leapfrog? You quickly vault over him, and he turns around after running past a building on both sides. He got irritated and he channeled a wolf. 'Perfect,' you thought. You then took a deep breath, put your thumb and a second finger into your mouth, and gave a shrill whistle! The sound was so loud to Rudy that he covered his ears, running and stumbling right into your oncoming punch. His legs flew up so that his back was parallel to the road just before he hit it. You smile at him triumphantly as he groaned on his back. "It's a package deal: you get the best and the worst of the animals you use." He tried grabbing your ankle, but you hop backward. "No, you don't."

Harley came up with her arms around your chest. "You showed him, Shadow man." But Parasite got up again, looking peckish...

"All this workout is making me thirsty again..." He walked up to you, and Harley was ready to whack the purple mole, but you told her to 'step aside.' Of course she protested.

"No way. I'm not leaving ya."

"I got this. Trust me." She couldn't argue with how well you handled Rudy's wolf attributes, so she did. When he reached for your head with both hands, you kept them at bay for as long as you could. 'That's right. Keep pushing yourself...' you thought. At the split second you released his wrists, you raised your hands and created a teleportation wall! Rudy watched his hands and arms disappear into thin air, only to reappear in front of him and grab his head! He screamed as he felt his own energy being drained, only to have it come back to him and be taken again. Each event triggered the next in a seemingly endless loop, until his exhaustion finally **** him to release himself... and he fell, down for the count. You made the wall vanish, much to the shock and awe of your partner. "Mr. S... That was amazing!" You smirk and explained that you had to lure Parasite to take only the powers you wanted him to.

"Then it was a matter of beating him at his own game; no one said he couldn't drain his own body of skills and powers." She came to you and kissed your cheek.

"You're... amazing," she sighed happily. You smile and kiss her nose, making her giggle.

"So are you, for helping me like you did today."

"Anytime, Puddin'." And you both waited until the paramedics checked the conditions of Rudy's victims, watching as also the cops took the Parasite away.
