You nod. “I have actually.”

She perks up, seeming genuinely surprised. She smiles and crosses her legs. She’s wearing a yellow dress and stockings, as well as a short-sleeved vest. Her appearance proves your thoughts of her sheltered upbringing.

“It’s been a little time though since I’ve last recalled it.” You stammer. “Perhaps you can tell me about it?”

Flora clears her throat, her lips are curling slightly at the thought of talking about the book. “Well, they just found Efrafa. It’s about rabbits, as you know, but I have a hard time picturing any of them as rabbits since so...so realistic, I guess?”

She smiles wider and flips through some of the pages. “I like how unique all their names sound too, it gives the rabbits so much character. There’s only been a few warrens it seems, but even they differ so much from each other! Perhaps if I saw some kind of film or-”

“Oh, there is a film,” you interrupt.

She blinks. “You’re kidding me!”

You shake your head. “No, there’s one.”

“Where? When?” She’s uncrossed her legs and is now leaning in with anticipation. “Can I still watch it somehow?!”

“I saw the film, or uh, animation before reading the book. It’s...actually kinda creepy? It’s been a few years now, but they had it come up at a working theater where I come from.”

Flora falls back and huffs. “Ik moet het zein…”

“Pardon?”

“Nothing,” she replies. She looks at her book and stares at it for a few seconds. When silence continues, you ask which rabbit is her favorite. She perks again. “I haven’t finished the book yet, but I like Hazel. He’s so...average, but he plays the leader so well!”

You both banter for a while longer, allowing a decent amount of time to pass. By the time it dries, you both agree it’s probably time to eat.
