Chapter 43 by Johnrocker Johnrocker

What's next?

Second Half

Thankfully for the true football fans out there, the second half was a much more eventful half with the game going down to the wire.

Late in the last quarter, the score was 25 to 21, the Bulldogs offence with the ball. The crowd was screaming at every play.

“You think we’ve got this?” Mark asked his buddy Daniel.

“Got what?”

“The game Daniel, do you think we can hold the lead?” laughed Mark.

“Ohhh yeah sure, why not.”

Mark wasn’t the biggest football fan but Daniel really had no clue what was going on. Looking at the clock, there wasn’t long to go at all, the bulldogs may be **** to go for a Hail Mary.

The opposing quarterback had the ball, he shuffled back before launching a massive pass. It felt like it was up in the air for ages. The ball sailed further and further to the touchdown area. A few players jumped at the ball, a player in blue held onto the catch and made it across the touchdown line.

The Bulldogs had done it, the final score 25 to 27.

The majority of the stadium echoed with boos and loud groaning. The Bulldogs players on the ground were going nuts, jumping on each other, their supporters in the stadium just as loud.

Game over. The Eagles fans stood in the stands, upset from the result. Mark and Daniel were about to leave before they were stopped by a couple of girls.

It was Maple and Eliza, two blonde female roommates from West Hall.

“Hey guys, shame about that finish,” said Maple.

“It’s going to be such a shit vibe on campus tonight,” added Eliza.

“We can still party tonight though can’t we? It’s Saturday after all,” said Daniel.

“Umm hell yeah!” Maple replied, “We were going to check out the courtyards, see if they’re going to get a bonfire going.”

Daniel agreed, but Mark couldn’t, “Sorry guys, I’m catching up with a couple of people for dinner tonight.”

Mark had already made plans with Cassidy and Matt to meet them at the campus food court for a light dinner before all the drinking activities kicked off.

“I’ll see you guys around though!” he said before making his way out of the arena.

It was around 6:30pm by the time they met up at the food court. Cassidy looked great in pair of jeans short shorts and a red college football t-shirt. She had dark hair curled for a change with plenty of make up done.

“We should have never lost that match today,” she said, biting into a McDonalds McChicken burger.

Matt sat next to her, smashing down a Big Mac.

“Babe, you might want to slow down with that.”

As soon as she said that, Matt spilled drops of Big Mac sauce over himself. “Fuck sake, Cass, can you grab me some napkins.”

Cassidy tolled her eyes before getting out of her seat to go grab some napkins.

“Oh great,” mumbled Matt as he noticed a few senior boys from Westmere walking into the McDonald’s section of the foot court, “Fucking hate those upper class bastards.”

As Cassidy made her way back to the booth, one of the big guys in the group of Westmere seniors slapped her on the ass while walking pass.

It took her by surprise, she sat back down in shock.

“What? What happened?” asked Matt who had missed the scene.

“That Westmere guy just slapped by fucking ass.”

For a second it looked like Matt was going to get up and confront him but as he eyed off the senior that had done it, he just sat there and took another bite of his burger.

“Maybe it was an accident.”

Cassidy looked at him in even more shock, “An accident?! You’re defending him? Instead of saying something to him?”

“I’m not defending him, I’m just saying maybe he didn’t mean it,” he replied, trying to avoid any confrontation.

Cassidy just stared blankly at him, her mouth wide open. She couldn’t believe that he wasn’t going to defend him.

Losing her appetite, she sat there pissed off, staring at the table.

Mark had seen the incident and he knew that the guy had definitely slapped her butt. He wanted to stand up to them, he felt terrible that Cassidy had to deal with that.

But looking over at the booth of the Westmere senior boys, he felt immediately intimidated. They could easily kick his ass if they wanted to.

Mark put his meal aside as he debated what to do, confront the Westmere seniors or leave it alone and let this be a relationship problem between Matt and Cassidy.

Confront or Sit there
