Chapter 5 by Spioch Spioch

What costume does she find browsing?

A translucent white sheet [Act 1 - Complete]

Hello!

I'm starting a new branch here, and I do hope you enjoy this story!
The first act is completed and it's the introduction to our main character and her predicament.
I tried to actually write a CHYOA story, that gives you plenty of choices to make, and paths to follow.

Lauren browsed the costumes in the back. One thing for sure - they were immersive.
She'd never thought someone will put so much effort into crafting a costume. Next to every costume, there was a set of accessories and a short description.

Some of the costumes were inspired by international folklore, such as a Sami shaman, a Greek Lamia, a Russian Vytianka or a Persian Aga. Others appeared to be made up, like the costume of a 6 handed female with a costume that suggested an affinity for spiders.

There was a Djinn costume too, together with the lamp, and Lauren's eye rested on it for a while, before finally moving on to look at the others.

She'd have browsed further if not for the cell phone ringing. It turned out to be her boss, and while she was listening to her she started reading the description of a costume before her eyes.
In contrast to the other costumes, this one was extremely simple and didn't come with any accessories.

Wandering Ghost

Not bound to any place, in particular, this kind of ghost is free to wander around the world freely, without any obstruction. It can be however summoned by calling its name or exorcised if it's causing mischief. Possesses limited ability to interact with the physical world.

Costume use instructions

  1. The costume can be only ...

The call ended just as she was finishing reading the description. The clock on her phone showed 17:00. She really should be going.

Should she really go with something so simple?

It's not like she really cared about the costume, but it was obligatory for the party, and the hosts were sticklers for the rules.

Sound of a gong helped her make a decision.

Try it out or buy and take it home?
