Chapter 121 by Daylan Daylan

How's Class Go?

The Class Itself Is Fine, But...

Professor Grinder has you pair up with someone else, since he wants everyone to have a good enough sample-size of different brains to communicate with to see how subtly different each one is, so today's class has you sharing a simple but pleasant mental talk with a slightly overweight boy from Cerberus House. His name is Mick, he seems mildly curious about your quickly growing reputation, and is trying to figure out how to ask someone he likes from another class to an upcoming social event. You would not mind working with him again on other projects once the Professor lets you circle back around to students you have paired with before (or Harmony does not try to monopolize your time) but you can already tell this is probably just going to be a casual, working relationship at best.

Speaking of Harmony, you notice her occasionally looking in your direction as she works with her partner, an unremarkable young man from Phoenix House who looks utterly exhausted trying to keep up with whatever it is they are trying to do. She looks frustrated and bored with both it and him but still keeps to herself for the remainder of the class. Once it is over, she even gathers up her stuff and walks out, seemingly leaving you in peace for today.

This false peace is quickly shattered once you exit the classroom yourself. The Professor had asked you to send Tara back to the dorm, as he felt it was too soon to have something as potentially chaotic as a Fairy around to disrupt the psychic signals in the room, and you plan to return to your room to pick her up again. However, you turn a corner down the hallway and suddenly have a large bit of cloth thrown over your body. Harmony's breasts squish against your back as she shifts the Invisibility Cloak over the two of you to ensure it covers enough of the both of you for its magic to take effect and leans in to whisper in your ear, "There's a quiet place we must go to talk near here, Worm. Left at the next corner and second door on the right."

Something about those directions sounds familiar to you but you only realize why once you reach the nondescript door that Harmony unlocks with the Openicus spell. You step inside the familiar closet where you took Amelia's anal virginity in and quickly decide it would be a good idea not to mention that fact to Harmony now that she has stepped inside herself and closed the door again. "So what's this about that we can't talk about outside?" you ask before a smirk comes to your lips, "Have I turned you into some kind of nymphomaniac or something?"

Harmony turns slightly red at the cheeks as she glares at you. "I need your help with a psionic project before my next class," she explains, "And it is of a sensitive enough nature I would rather not risk another barging in or getting curious and trying to scan both of us, were we in public."

Your eyebrows raise so high they threaten to bump up against the ceiling but say nothing as Harmony sits down on her knees and impatiently gestures for you to do the same. Deciding to follow her lead, you do so and once you are down she says, "Now just reach out for my mind. Like we did on the second day of class. I'll take it from there."

Mentally shrugging your shoulders, you relax and let your mind focusing on feeling the flow of Harmony's thoughts and following them back to the source. "We are going to be interacting in a slightly different way, this time," she thinks at you, "So don't be too surprised."

Before you can ask her what she means, your surroundings suddenly change.... or at least they do on the mental level. You are seemingly outside, standing near a secluded walkway on the campus. It is a fall afternoon that is still bright, despite the thin grey cloud cover overhead and you wish you could feel the small, cool breeze against your face that is clearly swirling around based on the way some of the orange and yellow leaves in the trees above are rustling about. You are not sure exactly where you are supposed to be on the campus, though it is apparently somewhere near the the old, abandoned Alchemy Studies building given that you can see the top floors of it peeking out over the treeline.

Harmony is sitting on an old looking park bench, looking up at you expectantly as you stand there. She indicates the spot next to her and you approach, your mental self sitting down and smoothing out your skirt as you--

Wait. Skirt?

You look down and see that, while this is your mental self, the body it is projected into in this mental plane is not your own. It is the body of a woman in a female's school uniform and a rather slender, long legged, subtly-chested woman at that. This figure is very familiar looking to you and when you dig out a compact mirror from your skirt's pocket, you see Amelia's face staring back at you in utter bafflement.

Your gaze whips to Harmony but before you can think and/or exclaim "What the hell", she explains, sounding irritated, "I've beeen trying deep mental imaging to practice something YOU recommended I do but I realized I was having a certain issue on my own!"

"And that is...?" you think questioningly, though you are fairly certain you know what.

"I DON'T KNOW HOW SHE THINKS!" she all but snaps, making your head throb, "And since you've obviously bedded her multiple times, you at least must have SOME knowledge of how she thinks and would react to how I might best go about... about..."

"Apologizing?" you finish.

The sky darkens a moment as Harmony's mind self scowls and you sigh. "Look, Harmony, you can't really PRACTICE an apology. I mean, you CAN but it's not the same thing as, y'know, TALKING to another person and getting to know them, so you know what really upset them in the first place and not do it again."

"This is how anyone in my position would do things, Worm," Harmony snarls back, "And you have NO idea what the consequences would be if I make a mistake in this! Or anything! I... I have to be prepared."

Her anger fades slightly on her last few words and she looks away from you, squirming in hapless frustration and you sigh again. "Fine. I'll do what I can to help, I guess. Just... give me a minute to get into character, okay?"

The sky and Harmony's expression both lighten up, surprising you with how happy she legitimately seems that you are willing to help.

Now... how do you help? You can play things straight, of course. Just try to do your best to guess how Amelia would respond to Harmony's apology tactics and work from there. You could also be more mischievous, try to mess with Harmony and her expectations. There is also still time to change your mind and decide this is not worth doing after all but...

Which Will You Do?
