"I'm going to kill Caesar"

"I'm going to kill Caesar. And every one of those mutinying bastards," she adds through gritted teeth. The look of sheer rage in her eyes almost makes you step out of her way, but you manage to speak up.

"Captain...I have no doubt you'd march back into town and accomplish that on your own, but we need to think. Caesar is worse than a rat, and he will die. But if he was cunning enough to do this, he's definitely prepared for you to come running back to the ship. Didn't he mention moving the ship to a different rendezvous point?"

She glowers at you for a few moments. Then, she sighs. "Fine," she reluctantly says. "I underestimated him once. I won't let it happen again."

"Are you...okay?" you carefully ask.

She sighs again. "I'm...I'll be okay. Just...rally the men for me."

You gather the dozen or so sailors to assemble in front of Captain Blood. She's turned her ripped up shirt into a makeshift bandeau, tying it around her chest to regain a little sense of dignity. She stands unspeaking for what seems like an eternity. Everyone is silent, unsure of what she's thinking. Finally, she begins to talk.

"Well...there's no point pretending you all didn't see what just happened. What they were trying to do to me. What Caesar did to me." She spits out his name like it was venom. "But I will have my ****. They tried to kill you all. They tried to break me. But I am still your Captain. And if you will still follow me, we will make them all pay in blood for their betrayal."

A few of the crewmembers shout out.

"We'll kill Caesar!"

"Those bilge rats'll get what's comin' to them!"

"They probably have The Temptation by now, and the other half of the treasure," Captain Blood continues. "But we have enough gold here," she says pointing to the open treasure chest, "to buy a new ship and chase that scum wherever they're trying to flee. Who's with me?!?"

All the crewmembers begin cheering and shouting.

"Well," One-Eyed Will says as he sidles up to you, "it's good to see she still has some fire in her."
