Chapter 5

3 months later

Barry is still mourning for the loss of his Dad and wishes he could travel back in time and change it all, when an alarm sounded.

Cisco ran immediately to the computers and began to type.

"A meteor is heading straight to downtown." He told Barry.

Barry speeded into his suit and ran below the meteor.

The meteor crashed in a flat land and Barry stopped beside it.

"Guys, it is NOT a meteor." Barry told his team while looking at the spaceship.

Barry remembers flying Kara's spaceship and he immediately thought, 'Could it be Kara?', his train of thought was interrupted by the ship opening...

The Dominators ran outside and screeched, they began to divide and ran towards different directions.

"Aliens!" Barry said as he thought, 'I'll need an alien of my own.'

"BARRY! Argus is on the way, we'll ask Lyla about this." Cisco said through the coms.

Barry ran back to STAR Labs to tell them what he found.

STAR Labs

"What do you mean by 'Aliens'? Are they green and small or do they look like humans?" Cisco asked excitedly.

"They look like monsters from Dungeons & Dragons." Barry commented dryly.

Lyla entered the Cortex and said, "What did you see?"

"They were grey colored and they looked reptilian and they had very sharp fangs." Barry told Lyla.

"We call them The Dominators," Lyla began as she nodded her head, "We have been in truce with them since the 80's but we don't know why they are back now." Lyla explained.

"What do we know about the Dominators? Besides what they look like?" Barry asked Lyla.

"Nothing, and please, stay out of this. I don't need Johnny on the battlefield with these creatures." Lyla told him

"There's something I haven't told you guys yet." Barry began, "I don't know if it's related to what's happening though." Barry said.

"What is it?" Caitlin asked, curiously.

"This isn't the first time, I've met an alien species." Barry said forthcomingly.

"You already met an alien before now?! That's so cool!" Cisco geeked out.

"And I've dated her for quite a while, too." Barry told them, cautiously.

"What kind of alien species was she?" Lyla asked, curiously.

"A Kryptonian." Barry answered.

"That's impossible, Krypton blew up." Lyla said incredulously.

"Is there any time dilation around Krypton?" Barry asked her.

"Wait a minute," Cisco began going over to the computer, he began typing and said, "When you came back from Keystone City, we tracked you going over to a planet called Earth-38…" Cisco trailed off.

"So… what?" Barry asked.

"The Kryptonians are dead, in this Universe but not in Earth-38." Cisco commented.

"I know, but there are survivors from the destruction. Look for any anomaly around Krypton and tell me if you find any." Barry told Cisco.

Cisco then began to search for any anomaly around the former planet Krypton and he saw a breach of some sort.

"Holy crap!" Cisco exclaimed, "This means that Krypton blew up in Earth-1 and the survivors went over to another universe." Cisco concluded.

"Look at the readings of the breach," Caitlin said as she pointed at them, "It has the same vibrational readings of the breach you came through." She finished.

"Kara and I, are from the same universe…" Barry trailed off, "Wow!" Barry said, dumbfounded.

"Who's Kara?" Iris asked him.

"She's the Kryptonian I've told you about." Barry said.

"Thank you for sharing the information, Lyla." Barry told the director, "Something tells me that Kara might know more about the Dominators if they do decide to attack this planet, I think I'll ask her." Barry said with a smile.

"Stay out of this." Lyla whispered to him.

"You don't want Kara to tell you about them?" Barry asked,

"Don't endanger my family, please." Lyla begged.

"Okay," Barry began, "I'm just going to check on Kara and see if she's okay, because something tells me The Dominators might be after her." Barry said with determination.

Lyla nodded her head and began to head back to Star City.

"Cisco, can you open a breach for me?" Barry asked, excited.

"As long as I get to come with you, I want to meet this 'Kara' " Cisco told Barry, curious of what a Kryptonian looked like...

"Um sure." Barry agreed, hesitantly. Maybe Cisco coming along with him will make the return to National City, less awkward.

Cisco opened a breach and motioned for Barry to go first.

Earth-38 ~ National City

Kara and Mon-El were making out on the couch, not realizing the breach opening up in the apartment.

Barry stepped out with Cisco, and immediately felt jealous but then he remembered the promise, he had Kara make. Shaking off his jealousy, he began by saying, "Kara," Barry began, "It's been a while." he said.

Kara and Mon-El was startled by the unannounced visit of Kara's ex-boyfriend.

"Barry! I missed you. Why did you come back?" Kara asked.

"I just came back to check up on you," Barry began, "I had a run-in in Central City with an alien species called 'The Dominators.' " Barry told her. Trying to ignore the fact that he lost both his biological father and Kara. Sure, he still had Joe, Iris and maybe Wally but that thought didn't bring him any comfort whatsoever.

Before Kara could say anything, the door swung open and Lucy, Alex, and Winn came in the apartment.

"Barry," Lucy began, "It's good to see you again." She smiled at him.

"Nice to see you too, Lucy." Barry said as he walked towards them.

"Kara told me that you regained your memories before you left, Barry." Alex commented, "So, to what do we owe this visit?" Alex asked Barry.

"The Dominators showed up in my Earth and I just came to check up on Kara and make sure she was okay." Barry said with a smile.

"And Kara is really from our Earth." Cisco continued for Barry.

"What!?" Kara exclaimed in shock. "How am I from Barry's Earth?" she asked, incredulously. Overlooking the fact that Barry mentioned The Dominators momentarily.

"Krypton blew up in our Universe, and a breach opened up before your Space Pod could reach our Earth." Barry explained as plainly as he could. Not knowing how else to explain it to her.

"But I clearly remember that I was stuck on the Phantom Zone." Kara reasoned to the two.

"I-We don't know what happened to you and your cousin but we need your help." Barry told her.

"What are we up against?" Kara asked.

"A species called 'Dominators', they are invading my Earth because of me." Barry explained briefly while looking down.

"What do you mean because of you?" Alex asked him.

"My Earth is being invaded because I liked or loved a Kryptonian." Barry said while looking at Kara longingly.

"And there's nothing I can do, because a friend warned me to stay out of it, because she didn't want me to endanger her family." Barry commented with a frown.

"Sorry, but what is a 'Dominator'?" Winn asked them.

"I told my friend Lyla that a Dominator is a grey colored, reptilian looking alien species with very sharp fangs." Barry recounted.

Winn nodded his head and trying to remember if he saw a record of this 'Dominators'.

"I'm coming, I know the Dominators better than anyone." Kara told them as she speeded into her Supergirl suit.

"I won't be able to help you on this one, Kara...I gave Lyla my word…" Barry trailed off, sadly.

"THEY ARE INVADING YOUR-OUR PLANET AND YOU'RE NOT GONNA DO ANYTHING?!" Kara yelled and reasoned to Barry.

"If we're gonna do this then we need to talk to Lyla Diggle, she doesn't want her husband, John, in danger. They're in Star City on our Earth." Barry commented.

"Let's go." Cisco said as he opened a breach.

"Wait Kara, I'm coming too." Mon-El and Winn said in unison.

"What about you, Alex?" Barry asked Kara's sister.

"Somebody's got to keep an eye out in the DEO." Alex told him.

"I'll go." Lucy said to Barry. "Let's kick some ass." she said.

"Sure, hold my hand?" Barry asked the director and former military officer.

"Of course." Lucy agreed as she took Barry's hand.

Kara felt slightly jealous but then she silently reminded herself that she moved on and is with Mon-El, now.

The five stepped inside the breach and it closed off behind them.

STAR Labs

The five found themselves in the Cortex with an excited looking Caitlin.

"Is this the Kryptonian, you've told us about Barry!?" she asked, excitedly.

"Yeah, she is." Barry said, not wanting to talk about Kara.

"Wow," Caitlin began, "She could blend in, in a crowd like a...like a Terminator." Caitlin said in thought.

"Am I in heaven? And did I just hear Caitlin Snow MD make a movie reference?" Cisco said to his best friend.

"Terminator's the only film, I like Cisco." Caitlin mentioned.

"Wait, you have a life?" Barry asked incredulously.

"Yeah, but that's not important right now, I take it you've brought Kara here to help fight the Dominators?" Caitlin asked.

"Yeah, but we can't defeat them with only the two of us. We need the rest…" Barry trailed off.

"And you need to convince Lyla to put her husband, John in danger." Caitlin recounted.

"I don't plan on John going out there in the field." Barry told them.

"Who wants a supersonic road trip to Star City?" Barry asked them with a smirk.

"I want one, let's go Barry." Lucy said while jumping into his arms.

"Ready?" Barry asked her as lightning flashed through his eyes.

They took off out of STAR Labs and Supergirl and Mon-El followed them through the air.

STAR CITY

The four arrived at the Arrow Cave or the Quiver, and they saw a blonde haired girl typing furiously on the computer.

"Felicity." Barry began, "Is Oliver here?" he asked flashing into the room with Lucy.

"Barry!" Felicity exclaimed as she turned around, "You do know that secret base and secret identity has the word secret, right?" She asked him.

"Well, Lucy, Kara and Mon-El are from Earth-38." Barry reasoned, "They don't know about The Arrow on that planet." Barry said.

"Actually Barry, there has been sightings of a vigilante in Starling City with a bow and arrow." Lucy corrected him.

"Oops." Barry began, "You guys can keep a secret though, right? I mean you kept mine…" Barry trailed off.

"Of course, Barry." Lucy said as she kissed his cheek.

Kara and Mon-El finally showed in the Quiver about five minutes later.

"Took you two long enough." Barry said with a grin.

"You're really happy, what happened?" Kara asked while squinting her eyes.

"Oh, nothing." Barry said, "I'm just happy that I was able to finally beat you in a race, Girl of Steel." Barry commented snarkily.

"Getting cocky now are we? Scarlet Speedster." Kara teased him.

"Oh, no. We can't have that. Last time I was that cocky, Zoom murdered my father right in front of me." Barry said bitterly.

"Wait, what happened?" Kara asked, dropping the teasings.

"You've heard me, Kara. Zoom murdered my Dad in my childhood home, and said, "NOW Barry! We are the same." Barry said darkly.

"I'm sorry Barry, I didn't know." Kara apologized.

"It's fine." Barry said vaguely.

Kara knew better and saw right through his acts and lies. She knows that he is still hurting but she doesn't know how to comfort him.

"Anyway, why do you want to see Ollie?" Felicity asked them

"What you didn't hack into ARGUS, and see what they're trying to cover up in Central City, Felicity?" Barry asked.

"I was in the middle of hacking them when you arrived, Thank you very much." She said bitterly.

"Long story, short, aliens are invading this planet." Barry commented, "They want Kara for some reason. She's one of the last Kryptonians in our universe." Barry said.

"Are you guys nuts?! Fighting an alien army?!" Felicity exclaimed.

"Aliens? Cool, count me in." Thea said as she walked over to the group.

"We've gotta keep Dig out of this though, because Lyla doesn't want me to endanger him." Barry said.

"You do know that he's behind you, right?" Thea said with a smug look while pointing behind him.

"Dig," Barry said while turning around, "Lyla doesn't want you in danger, she begged me not to put you in danger." Barry said.

"Lyla? I was with Lyla all morning with our daughter." Dig said to him.

"Oh," Barry began, "These aliens, these Dominators can shapeshift." Barry said ominously.

"Not necessarily, they only have the technology to appear they can do so." Kara told him as a matter of fact.

"Let me guess, these Dominators once fought a war against Krypton, right?" Barry asked his ex.

"Yes, my house was one of the ones that fought them." Kara agreed as she nodded her head.

"They must have a weakness of some kind." Barry said in thought.

"I don't remember much than just the stories of them." Mon-El said.

"I assume because bullets can bounce off of you, Kara." Barry began, "They won't do much good…" Barry trailed.

Before Kara could continue what Barry will say, the elevator dinged with a very grumpy archer entering the Quiver.

"Barry! What are you doing here? And who are these people?! Do I need to teach you how to keep a secret also?!" Oliver asked him, exasperated.

"Oliver," Barry began, "We don't have time for secrets and lessons," Barry said bitterly, "An alien race called the Dominators are invading this planet and they have technology that allows them to blend in with humans." Barry said, equally exasperated.

"If we're fighting these-these Dominators, we need Stein and the others." Oliver began, "They are calling themselves the Legends now."

"They must be somewhere in the future or the past." Barry said.

"I sent a message to the Waverider, they should arrive in an hour and a half." Felicity said.

"I have a place for us to stay and plan our attack." Barry said vaguely.

The Hall of Justice

"Wow, do you own this place?" Lucy asked the speedster.

"Well, I am the owner of STAR Labs, so I guess I do." Barry commented.

"What's it called?" Winn asked him.

"The Hall of Justice." Barry answered.

"That's pretty cool and epic." Kara commented.

Barry just nodded his head and went off to formulate a plan to take down the Dominators…

Sometime later

"Barry! The Dominators are contacting us." Cisco said while typing.

"I'll see what they have to say, Kara. You stay here, it may be a trap." Barry said.

"This is my fight too, Barry. I'm coming." Kara said with determination.

"Okay, but if something happens...get help." Barry said.

"Sure, let's go." Kara said then flew away.

An Abandoned Warehouse

Barry and Kara were walking slowly into the Warehouse being careful.

"Don't worry, Flash. We won't hurt you, just give us the Kryptonian." A Dominator said.

"Why? What do you want with her?" Barry asked, curiously.

"For her kind to cease to exist." The Dominator replied simply.

Barry whispered to Kara's ear, "Run. Fly away." he said concerned for her safety.

"Indestructible, remember?" Kara said to him.

"Can we settle this with a trade, like… a life for a life." Barry said to the Dominators.

"Yes, we can but the worth of the person must be as much as the Kryptonian." The Dominator agreed.

"So, my life for hers is out of the question?" Barry asked.

"Let's see first," the Dominator touched Barry's head and saw that he is the only speedster in this universe.

"Yours is enough." The Dominator said to him.

"Goodbye Kara. Have a nice life with Mon-El." Barry said solemnly.

"No, I won't let this happen." Kara said while crying.

"Don't ever come back to this planet no matter what happens, alright?" Barry said to the Dominators.

"We won't." They agreed.

The Dominators teleported to their ship with Barry, leaving a crying Kara.

The Hall of Justice

Kara flew inside the hangar while crying.

"What happened!?" Mon-El asked. "Why are you crying!?"

"He's gone." Kara sobbed.

"What did Barry do!?" Oliver exclaimed.

"He sacrificed himself for my life." Kara muttered then continued to cry.

"He must have thought he had nothing else to live for, Kara." Mon-El said in thought, "He lost you and he lost his father." Mon-El said, darkly.

"We need to rescue, Red." Mick said to them, "Even if he does annoy me." He added.

"With the Waverider?" Cisco asked.

"Don't underestimate my ship, Mr. Ramon." Rip said to him.

"We better get going then." Cisco said.

"Who else wants to come and rescue Barry?" Oliver said as he raised his hands.

"I'll go." Lucy said with a raised hand, "Barry needs me." she said with determination.

"Me too." Mon-El said as he raised his arm.

"Kara, dry your eyes." Oliver said, "We can't have you getting emotional out there." he told her.

"I'm fine." Kara said to him, anger boiling inside of her.

The Waverider

The Waverider tracked the Dominators ship to Mars.

"What are we gonna do? None of us can breathe in outer space." Caitlin asked the group.

Rip pulled out some oxygen masks.

"Let's just say that I'm thankful that Mia Smoak will invent these oxygen masks in the future." Rip said with a smirk.

Each of them put an oxygen mask on. "We need an extra one for Barry as well." Kara said.

"We don't have any extras." Oliver said.

"Then how are we supposed to keep him alive?" Kara asked incredulously.

"I think what Mr. Queen is prompting is that not all will come back in this ship alive." Stein said to the Kryptonian.

"Let's go then." Kara said while walking out of the Waverider with her mask on.

"Can you scan the surroundings with your sight?" Lucy asked Kara while cocking her gun.

Kara looked around with her enhanced sight and X-Ray vision and saw Barry in a dungeon of sorts about to be experimented on…

"We're too late, they are about to experiment on him. It's all my fault." Kara said while tearing up.

"Pull yourself together, Kara." Oliver said angrily, "Use whatever abilities you have to make an opening into that place."

"You don't get it, Oliver! If Barry didn't have a relationship with me, our Earth will not be invaded and Barry will be safe right now!" Kara yelled at him, angry at Oliver and herself.

"Now is not the time to blame yourself," Oliver began, "Now's the time for action."

Kara directed her anger in her heat vision and began to break out Barry.

"We had a deal!" One of the Dominators said in anger.
