} Crowded around the foot of the bridge on this side a is a semi-permanent village, with log structures, plank streets and lean-tos clustered around as far as the eye can see on both sides of the western road. Those who live here have been deemed too corrupt to enter Brighthome, so they cluster close by, hoping for some protection from the wilds beyond.
