What happens in the throne room?
Defend the Elven King
The gang of dissidents dealt with, you make a run for the castle, your friends following shortly behind through the city. The guards recognize you and make no attempt to stop the four of you as you approach. Filling in the throne room of King Yalph, he is still alive, but has not improved since you departed. His breathing is short and faint, and he does not appear conscious. Aromatic herbs are being burned nearby to help improve his lungs, but are ineffective. Accompanying the king is a young elf in resplendent purple robes, bearing a simple metal diadem across his brow. A priest of Corellon Larethian, the most powerful of the Elvish Dieties, or so it is thought. Though not a firm adherent, you have praised Corellon through your life, as he is the champion of song, and dance, among others. This can work to your advantage.
The priest bows as you enter, walking slowly. "You must be the one who discovered what was menacing our King. I am ashamed to never consider a haunting or apparition would be the cause, but we still have time to correct the mistake..."
The priest eyes you and your friends, gravitating at the brandished weapons you carry "Those weapons, surely you didn't..."
"We'll give them back when we're done." Kraig cuts the priest off, seeing where this is going. The priest finds himself at a slight loss. "In times of emergency, one can overlook such acts as necessities, I suppose." His face takes a new glance of pleasantness "Forgive me, where are my manners? My name is Rohrim. I am one of the attendants for the King. I have been keeping a vigil watch to make sure this unholy wretch does not assail King Yalph further, but I fear prevention is all that I am doing. Tell me, how did you bring the Banshee into the material world? If it is within my power, I would replicate the deed, so that you and your allies may deal a swift blow against it.
"Hard as it is to believe" you begin "I played the King a song. As I played, I thought I heard a discordant sound in the background. Continuing to play, the Banshee seemed **** to appear."
"Fascinating" Rohrim responded in a passive voice, taking this more as an intellectual curiosity. "Well, I am no bard, but as a priest of Corellon Larethian, I am versed in some instrumentation. I would be honored if you would join me, at least at the start."
"Gladly, Rohrim"

As I lay to rest
And my blood's slowing down
I feel the heat fading
And I wipe the sweat from my brows
It's finally done
I made my way home
Struggling for minutes
A million hours or so
I ran seven miles and still
I have thousands to go
Same story again
I stand alone
And for every question
An answer is found
Thousands of voices are
Screaming new questions out loud
But I make a stand
I'm not gonna drown
Here I stand alone
With an innermost freedom
Like rivers coming home
I stand alone
Finding trust and forgiveness
In someone I know
And for every crossing
Where two roads diverged
I felt one false decision
But still you find me on this earth
No matter how far
I made my way home
Is it you who's diverging?
The very next day
All the roads seem to vanish
You're still here, so I have to say
Same story again
You stand alone
And for every question
An answer is found
Thousands of voices are
Screaming new questions out loud
But I make a stand
I'm not gonna drown
Here I stand alone
With an innermost freedom
Like rivers coming home
We'll stand alone
Finding trust and forgiveness
In someone I know
This goes for all of my friends
I am with you and with me
Until the end
And for every question
An answer is found
Thousands of voices are
Screaming new questions out loud
But I make a stand
I'm not gonna drown
Here I stand alone
With an innermost freedom
Like rivers coming home
We'll stand alone
Finding trust and forgiveness
In someone I know
This goes for all of my friends
I am with you and with me
Here I stand alone
With an innermost freedom
Like rivers coming home
We'll stand alone
Finding trust and forgiveness
In someone I know
This goes for all of my friends
I am with you and with me
Until the end
As the song ends, you hear that same discordant sound you did before, a grinding, screeching noise from far away. As it began, you sang the melody of Veserae again. As your voice grew, the Banshee reappeared, and let out a sinister laugh
"You miserable little fool! Are you seeking to bring your precious King to an early grave!? I will be happy to oblige you!" The Banshee makes an otherworldly grasp for the King, to steal the last of his life from his body. Frustration crosses her face as it proves impossible, thanks to the protective magic of the priest. This proved foolish, as it left her **** to attack. It was you who struck the first blow, with your ancient short sword. A long horizontal swipe across the bottom of her visage, floating in air, caused a shrieking pain in the Banshee. Convulsing on herself, she turned to face you and the others.
"So, the lot of you aren't complete morons! Dispatching you will still be no problem." Seeing that Rohrim was the key to all of this, the Banshee made a viscious lunge for the priest, looking to tear at him with her claw like hands. Bruce interceded, putting himself between the two, raising his shield in the process. The shield did little to prevent the ethereal damage he was dealt, feeling as though he was struck in his very soul. This still provided a chance for a counter, with bruce taking a heavy vertical swing towards the Banshee's midsection. The Dowton brothers quickly swarmed in, making stabbing motions at the ghost with their enchanted weapons.
Outnumbered, the Banshee made a **** gambit for escape. Levitating towards the roof, she took in what energy she could before letting out an enormous, ghastly wail that expanded even outside the castle. To all who heard it, it bored straight into the mind and heart, causing immense pain that debilitated most. With her enemies focussing on the pain and not her, the Banshee fled the throne room, slowly fading incorporeal as she went, menacing you as she left.
"This isn't over, peons! I'll have Yalph yet! And when he dies, we can finally have the eternity that was promised!"
The ghost gone, You look over your friends. "How is everyone?" You ask.
"Sure glad you don't sing like that..." Kraig responded with typical sarcastic wit. "Sure glad that's all over though."
"It's not over" Bruce countered "That thing may not try to attack the King anytime soon, but it's still out there. We have to take the fight to it now."
"Great." James responded, "Somehow I knew you were going to say that. How do we fight a Banshee, when we don't even know where she is?"
Rohrim stepped forward, "Not to worry, dear friends. I have a plan for that."
Where does the hunt for the Banshee lead?
