Chapter 18 by ThomasMoro

What happens next?

See Jane run

Jane had never considered herself to be very athletic and indeed, she had done little running before she came to Transylvania. But now it seemed like she ran all the time -- usually under the watchful eyes of the weird girls. And yet the last few times Jane had tried to run away on her own, the weird girls had caught her with embarrassing ease.

Now here in England, things seemed different. The same weird girls who had stopped her previous attempts were nowhere in sight and the only person who seemed to have an issue with her escape attempt was Renfield, a guy who was not exactly built like a Greek god. In a way, Jane was not surprised that she did not see the weird girls. After all, Jane had noticed before she came to England that the weird girls never visited her in the daytime and while Jane was not quite sure about the reasons for that, she did realize early on that the daytime was the only time she could count on being spared the attentions of the weird girls.

And yet...

Despite herself, she was still having trouble running. Maybe it was the hot sun or her inability to run at full speed without having to occasionally slow down and catch her breath. Perhaps it was the stitch in her side or her rapid heartbeat or the simple fact that she was running across a vast amount of territory on bare feet. Her breasts had never seemed all that large before but for some reason, Jane kept feeling the need to hold them in place so that their up and down motions would not distract her. For that matter, her posterior had never seemed that big before yet the further she ran, the more she wished that her behind was a lot smaller. Like a ballet dancer's, perhaps.

Perhaps it would have been different if she had clothes on. Then again perhaps not. After all, part of her seemed to like the feel of the brisk breeze that blew across her sweaty skin as she ran. And part of her liked the fact that there was no cloth to prevent the breeze from touching any part of her body -- especially the parts that were not normally visible to public view.

Anyway, Jane was halfway across the lawn that separated the front entrance of the estate from the wall that marked the limit of the estate's territory. And yet as fast as she had run, she still heard the sounds of someone running behind her.

Who knew that Renfield could run so fast, thought Jane. At least she hoped it was Renfield. She hated to think that there was another servant of Count Dracula who, like Renfield, had no problems with the daylight.

No matter, thought Jane. Ahead of her was the wall and on the other side of the wall was the Westenra estate. Mina would be there and if she weren't, well then, their mutual friend Lucy would know where she was.

All Jane had to do was to outrun her pursuer and climb over the wall. Yes, those two things were all she had to do.

Or so she thought before the big wolf appeared in front of her.
