Druuna was furious. She wanted nothing more than to break open that window and start firing, but she knew it wouldn’t work. She had to be smart and use every advantage she could.

Slowly, silently she crept around to the door of the dilapidated cabin and knocked three times, then quickly moved to a position where the door would hide her when opened. She heard Carson curse softly inside and bellow at the sleeping man that it was his turn to report to Amicilii. Yawning and cursing a bit himself, the bleary eyed drunkard stumbled to the door and opened it.

“Wha-the…theresh nobody out here. Why da fuck you wake me up, Carson?! Theresh nobody-”

She struck like lightning, grabbing firm hold of his arm and yanking him out of the doorway and out of sight of the other men. He wasn’t able to scream before she quickly slammed the knife cleanly into his neck and vocal cords. The man was dead, but Druuna spent no time celebrating; the second bandit quickly sprinted out of the cabin, only to catch the fire from Druunas gun.

Then Carson was upon her, bellowing like a bloody bull. In his fury he had dropped his gun and was instead trying to beat Druuna down…

She, on the other hand, had not forgotten her gun.

Backing away from the mans flailing fists, Druuna swung the gun down in an arc and slammed it down onto the mans head with a satisfying crunch. The giant of a man crumpled to the ground, ****.

Making quick work, Druuna quickly found that much of the men’s supplies were her own. One bag contained her compass, two of her bras, one of her thongs, her medical kit, five travel rations and two hundred and eighteen caps. In addition, the bandits had been carrying two knives, two handguns and a large coil of rope.

With the supplies in hand, she made quick work of stripping Carson and then tying him up with the heavy ropes. After a time he awoke, only to nearly feint when he saw the furious raven haired woman holding a heavy hunters knife near his most sensitive areas. Realizing his position, he quickly started pleading for his life:
“W-Whoa! Wait! Please! I-It isn’t my fault! I just work for Mister Amicilii! I ain’t never done nothing to you! I-I’m innocent, I ain’t a bad guy, really! I never even touched you or your friend, honest ta’ god!”
Druuna only chuckled and mimicked “. My names Carson. Remember that name because that’s the name of the guy who’ll blow your dainty little feet into giblets if you try anything stupid….”
She could see the hope go out in his eyes as she continued
“Well I did remember. I know your name and I know how you cry like a bitch when you don’t have superior numbers or better guns to keep your ass safe. But there are some things I don’t know. Things that you’re going to tell me. You’ll tell me, or I’ll start taking bits of you, got it?!”
The nude man whimpered pitifully, responding “Y-Your crazy! Y-You can’t do this! It’s not right!”
Druuna grinned evilly at the man and replied:
“Oh, I don’t know. It’s the same deal you bastards offered me, so I think it’s plenty right. So now you’ll tell me all I want to hear….”

She didn’t have to hurt him after all. Carson wasn’t so tough when he was defenseless, and Druuna soon found out all she needed about Amicilii and his group. Five parties of three or four had been sent out in all directions, three of them heading by Greenport were given Druuna and Janette’s gear to be sold to one of Amicilii trusted fences, some gal named one eyed Jenny in the slums.
Satisfied with the information, Druuna knocked Marcus out again and hid him inside the cabin. By the time they found him she’d be far away. Grabbing her gear and applying a clean bit of gauze around her broken fingers, Druuna went back to where she had hidden Janette and they shared a simple, but filling meal of rations. To Druuna’s starving belly, it felt like a feast. Soon they both fell into a deep, weary sleep.
