What do you say?
You're a helpful type
“It’s OK,” you say, putting an arm around the sobbing girl. “No, I haven’t fucked them. It’s all right. Why don’t you come to my cabin during my office hours, and I’ll see if I can’t help you with your problems.”
“You’d do that?” she says, looking up at you. “You’d do that for me?”
“Of course,” you say, giving her a reassuring squeeze. “I’m here for all you girls, whenever you need me.”
Your let her go and walk into the building, resisting the urge to whistle. If there’s a Hell, you’re definitely on the way, but damn if it isn’t a great ride.
Class is much the same as yesterday, except that you are feeling more and more comfortable with faking you way through it. Once again, most of the girls are half asleep, but you can see Faith in the front row, hanging on your every word, but this time Emily has your full attention too. You give her a gentle smile back, causing her to look down, blushing fiercely.
As class ends Emily stands to approach you, but another girl from the front row, a pretty Latina girl with a flashing smile. “Hola, Senor Sharp,” she says. “That was a very good lesson today.”
“Why, thank you, Miss…de la Ortega,” you say, recalling her name from your seating chart.
“You are such a good teacher, Senor Sharp, that I wanted to ask for your help,” she says. “I and my friends are working on a project together, and I need your help for it.”
You see the look in her eyes, and you play a hunch. “Are those friends named Tamiko, Harper and Serena?” you ask.
“Oh, you have met them!” she says. “We are doing the same project, yes. Can you help me with it?”
“But, but, Mister Sharp,” Emily says, pushing forward. “I wanted to do more tutoring with you today.” She looks at you with eyes filled with need. “I, I need more tutoring.”
