It was Byleth himself.

"I repeat, can you please explain to me why are you running around naked throught the academy ?!", The teacher repeated more sternly than before, and if that wasn't bad enough, as Annette and Mercedes turned around to see who was him, they discovered with great embarrasment that it was Byleth himself who was standing next to their nude bodies.

"Ohh...ehhh...hey...B-Byleth...., h-how's the weather ?", replied Annette nervously as she tried to deflect the question while covering her lady bits with her hands.

"It's sunny if you ask", he simply responded to her question nonchanlantly, "Now, as to my earlier question, what are you doing naked here, are you some kind of streakers or what ?!!", he asked again, in his ever calm but serious voice.

"I SWEAR, WE AREN'T PERVERTS OR ANYTHING, PLEASE BELIEVE US!!", exclamed Mercedes as she pleaded to him.

"Alright, i'm listening"; he simply said.

"Emm.., ok..then.., well you see, we were cleaning the kitchen as you asked us to do, but we kinda...accidentaly may have caused one of these ovens to explose, and so, the fire burnt out clothes..., now, i know what are thinking, and yes, i know that you said that we didn't touch the ovens, but this was just an accident that we didn't meant to cause", rambled Annette as she did her best to explain the situation to him the best she could.

"And you first response to that was to streak throught the school rather that wait in the kitchen ?!", he said intrigued.

"Well..., it's just that we didn't anyone to see us", Mercedes responded. "Yeah, and by the way, why it is taking you so long to return to the kitchen, you were supposed to check on us 20 minutes ago",Annette countered as she pointed to the clock in the wall.

"I was simply doing some paperwork, that's all", he simply responded as he showed them a report he was filing, "Either way, regardless of whatever i was late or not, it's no excuse for either of you to go around running around bare naked through the school, much less causing another kitchen fire to being with", he argued.

"We didn't mean to, sorry!!", Both Mercedes and Annette said jointly nervously, bowing before him in a effort to prevent getting suspended or something of the style.

As Byleth looked before the two naked ladies in front of him, he began to think about what should he do in this situation, in one part, his duty as a teacher demanded him to inflict a appropiate punishment upon them according to the rules of the academy, yet, he also kinda felt bad for the two of them as a friend, and wanted to let them go free for this one. Yet, at the same time, he knew that letting them go completelly scot-free would be begging for them to cause more trouble in the future.
