Welcome Aboard

The halls were busy with young Cadets, Lieutenants, and other officers brazenly running through. Pierce walked steadily to the shuttle bay, pondering her new assignment. She was secretly hoping that her new senior staff would be as good as her old ones. A calmness washed over her as she knew that despite her misgivings, they would be great in their own right.

A few more corners and she approached the shuttle bay. A young man, looking fresh out of the academy was waiting outside checking people in for their designated shuttlecraft. "Name please?" he squeaked.

"Captain Stephanie Alana Pierce. Reporting for the USS Endeavor."

He scanned the PADD and found her name with his finger. "Acknowledged sir. I've found you. Head to shuttle bay 6, and board the Copernicus."

Pierce tilted her head in remembrance. She rode the Copernicus once when it was on loan from the Enterprise while she was a Lieutenant. It can't be the same one but it sounded like home, just like her new command did.

"Aye. Thank you Ensign." She walked past him and continued down the turbolift to the shuttle bay floor.

Looking around she saw strange looking shuttles of varying kinds. Thanks to Daniel's re-education and re-acclimation course, she recognized them as Yellowstone Class Runabout, Danube Class Runabouts, Delta Flyers, Type 7,8, and 10 shuttle crafts. It appeared that one of the Delta Flyer's was the new Copernicus. She's different, but looks to be sleek.

Boarding the vessel, they almost instantly take off as a Hologram appeared before her very eyes and began navigating the small shuttle through the plethora of Starships inside the gargantuan structure. She looked on for her ship. Some looked odd by configuration but this one seemed oddly familiar to her. Like it was a refit of her former ship. It was the Endeavor...

Her hull displayed proudly the serial number and looked to be a partial between the Constitution classic and the 2270's refit. More a hybrid of sorts. She was pleased to return home as the shuttle made it's way to the shuttle bay doors of the vessel. The doors opened and the shuttle flew in guided by the automated systems.

Captain Pierce turned and walked towards the aft doors of the shuttle awaiting the chance to get out and inspect this new ship and her crew.

From the outside, a young Lieutenant was waiting for the Captain. PADD in hand and checking some reports before reporting in to the new Commanding Officer. She was an odd species that she'd never encountered before. If her recent training was an indicator, this Lieutenant was a Cardassian.

"Permission to come aboard," the Captain stated in front of the officer.

"Permission granted sir. Lt. Aadya Edrei reporting for duty."

"At ease Lieutenant."

"Can I escort you to your quarters sir?"

"No, I think that I'd like to see the bridge. It's been a short while since I've been aboard a vessel like this. I'd like to see what I'm working with here." She paused before turning back, "Is the senior staff aboard?"

"Yes sir. Would you like me to gather them?"

"Have them report to the briefing room at 1800 hours. I'll be waiting there for them."

"Aye sir. Again, welcome aboard."
