Some drinks back in town

You are so excited as you head back to town - you not only succeeded in your first mission, you did it nearly flawlessly! You have a skip in your step as you enter the guild hall behind Nell and make your way up to the counter. After waiting a brief moment while Nell speaks to the woman behind the counter, he turns to you and hands you a small bag. You excitedly peek inside to find five gold coins! You hop in place slightly in excitement for your first reward as an adventurer.

Nell brings you back down to earth with a sudden question. "Care to celebrate our success for a bit? We did just get paid after all." You both chuckle to yourselves at the idea.

"I'd be glad to," you reply. "We make a great team!"

"We do," Nell replies with a smile before heading out of the guild hall. You follow close behind him out and down the street before he finally turns around and asks, "I hope you don't mind having a meal at the tavern where I'm staying?"

"That's fine, I'm not picky," you reply. At this point you're just glad to have a comrade to share a meal with.

You are slightly nervous as you follow Nell into the tavern directly next door to the one you were unceremoniously kicked out of that morning. That nervousness goes away, however, by the time you sit down next to Nell at an open table. He flags down one of the waitresses and orders a drink and small plate of meat and bread for each of you. It's brought out very quickly and both of you quietly scarf down your meals. This is the first meal you've eaten all day, and you completely devour it, saving no time for conversation.

When you both finish, you begin reaching for your sack of money when Nell stops you and pays for the entire check himself. "Consider it another gift to our partnership," he says as he raises what's left of his glass of ale. You meet his glass with yours and down the rest of your drink. "Now, I suppose you don't have any place to stay, considering this morning..."As his voice trails off you blush, suddenly reminded of the predicament you found yourself in at the beginning of the day. "You can stay with me if you like, my room should be big enough for the both of us," he suggests. You take a moment to ponder his offer - you could stay with him for free, but you also just received some money with which you could find a place to rent out your own room.
