Not much of a choice, really. You're not sure what a damned soul is, but you seem to remember naga being snake women of some sort and you aren't about to pass up a sexy sidekick given the choice. For the offering, while the enchanted sword sounds neat, you don't have any real interest in specializing in melee combat any time soon. Hopefully the information will lead you to a mana crystal or those candles you need for your altar.
You've already gotten used to the screaming and red light as the summoning circle opens yet again. Is it always going to be that way, or just when summoning daemons? In any case, the daemon that slithers out with a long hiss isn't quite what you envisioned.
The naga is in fact a snake woman. Technically. That is, she's a six foot long, half a foot thick greenish-blue snake with a cobra's hood and a face that looks like a cobra's face and a woman's face have been melted together. Even if you were ****, any second thoughts are quickly quashed by the two six-inch fangs coming out of her closed lips.

Champion – This monster is a high-ranking minion of a boss. Champions can leave the dungeon and retain their level when respawning.
Monstrous Appearance
Venomous Fangs – Bites deliver a powerful poison which damages, hinders, and can even paralyze afflicted enemies.
Well, it isn't a total loss. You now have a minion who is significantly more powerful than you: an effective bodyguard for your forays outside the dungeon. Before you have the chance to say anything, the summoning circle briefly opens again, and a short crack and pop announce a burnt, cracked piece of parchment which is ejected on a swell of hot air. You grab it with your clawed fingers and see a charcoal map of the area around Mt. Imporne, labelling several areas you recognize: several nearby towns, the mountain itself including a marker labelled "Azazel's Tower." It also marks a small monastery dedicated to Enileve apparently located in the nearby forest: the large red X painted over its location leaves you little doubt about the location of the items you're looking for.
Tap, tap, tap. The abishai in the distance keeps hammering away, the hallway gradually getting longer as he does. You aren't about to complain about the progress he's made over the past day, but the constant tapping is starting to get on your nerves. Hopefully soon enough your dungeon will be large enough that you can escape it. For now, it's time to leave your dungeon and rob some monks. You get up and motion to your new champion, who silently slithers up the stairs beside you as you make your way out of the tower, passing the acrid, smoky stench of some recent firebolt-related game or other in the tower and out the rickety front door. You find yourself greeted by an overcast sky and a steady thudding sound.
To the outside world, your tower is more-or-less unchanged. It still stands upon a wide, relatively flat rocky outcrop on the side of the mountain and looks as if it's been mouldering there for centuries or even millennia. A few trees now poke out from a patch of dirt near the cliff edge, one of which has a green abishai chopping steadily away at it, the source of the thuds you heard a moment ago. The opposite cliff face is marred by pickaxe strikes, with several boulders sticking haphazardly out of it and piles of rubble, stone, and a few pieces of ore lying along the base. You'll have to arrange some sort of storage for that, but that can wait for another day. For now, you have some building materials of your own to locate.
The journey down the mountain trail is once again uneventful. "Uneventful" being a nice way of saying downright boring. Maybe boring isn't such a bad thing though, you think, remembering the quest that a certain priestess recently placed to kill you. You're grateful for Mt Imporne's location: it seems like not that many adventurers have been out yet since the update, and most of them must have other priorities. That combined with the mishmash of content difficulties on Imporne's slopes seems to be buying you some time. Time you fully intend to make use of before adventurers start showing up on your doorstep in ****.
For her part, Tlax (Tlaxxana is quite a mouthful) seems to be enjoying the outside world. She eagerly flicks to each new thing, coiling around it and staring at it while flicking her forked tongue. You have to call her back a few times as she seemingly tries to have a staring contest with a black rock, then a knotted tree, and finally a terrified kobold. Evidently this is her first time in this world, but unfortunately you can't ask her much about it: your attempts at communicating with her are met with a soft "ssssssss" and the flicking of her tongue: she seemingly either can't speak or doesn't want to. She at least seems to understand you well enough, which will have to do for now.
You've scarcely made it into the forest when Tlax tenses up and emits a long hiss. You freeze and look around, but you don't see anything other than foliage and undergrowth and hear only the breeze rustling through the leaves above. That said, you trust Tlax's senses, and remember that they're considerably better than yours. A moment later, you hear a short, sharp breath, and Tlax darts at a bush to your left almost faster than your eyes can follow. Next thing you know, a goblin dangles upside down in front of you, his legs tied together by Tlax's muscular tail. She unhinges her jaw and moves to bite him when you recognize him: he's one of the scouts from the tribe you visited earlier.
"Wait, Tlax, he might be a friend. Let's hear him out, and if he isn't then you can have a snack." She hisses but tosses him in a heap in front of you and coils. Moments later, she's coiled around a particularly interesting berry bush, meal forgotten. However, the instant the goblin warily glances in her direction, her face snaps back to him and she hisses again, eliciting a loud gulp.
"T-t-t-hank you, mighty magnificent reddest of guys. Please no make me food for scary snake lady."
You adopt your commanding, magically deepened voice. "Why were you spying on us?"
"Oh burningest of demo-gobbos, clan needs your help. Many adventurers come, kill gobbos, steal shinies. Goblins no have crystal and still dee-ooo. Me come to find you, but see you with fangy snake and hide."
You sigh. Helping the goblins wasn't exactly what you had in mind you set out today... but perhaps this is an opportunity. You nod to the goblin and snap your fingers to get Tlax's attention, and he leads you in a slightly different direction than you remember the camp being. A short walk later, you find yourself at a small cave with several goblins standing guard outside.
"We stay here now. Tribe clearing no good, cave at least warm."
You duck inside and can't help but wince. You still feel some kinship with the goblins, and their current living conditions are nothing short of abject squalor. The cave is damp and entirely too small for a tribe their size. It can't be more than a few hundred square feet, and is littered with makeshift bedding, fire pits, and whatever resources the goblins managed to salvage from their old camp. You spot the chieftess by one of the fires and make your way over to her.
"Red guy, you find crystal? Clan no find crystal, home very bad." You nod and her face lights up. "You give crystal to gobbos? We give you many shinies! All shinies!" You resist the urge to sympathize: you want at least some of these goblins as minions, and if you want to be their boss you need to act the part.
"Puny goblin, I have already used the crystal in my own lair. However, I can tell you how to find one and maybe even help you find one."
Her despondent face quickly perks up when she hears your offer. "What red guy want from gobbos for crystal?"
"The crystals seem to drop from adventurers. I found one by, erm, killing a level 3 priestess. You just need to corner and kill a few adventurers and you should be able to find your own."
"Big scary humans too strong for gobbos. Many come, take stuff. Red guy help kill bad guys?" She looks hopeful.
"I think we may be able to make a deal. You see, me and my companion here"—you motion to Tlax, who is currently lounging in the middle of the fire to worried glances from the goblins—"are about to attack one of the humans' temples. There should be adventurers there. If you send me five of your best goblins, I can give you the first claimant crystal we find."
She looks like she's about to argue, but another glance around the cave makes her reconsider. "Okay, good gobbos help fire man, fire man give gobbos red crystal."
She barks some orders in the goblins' guttural tongue and a ragtag band of goblins assembles in front of you with surprising speed. One of them, apparently the leader, wears thick hide armour and wears a belt covered in jagged knives, while the others wear brown boiled leather and carry spears, torches, and short bows. Based on the amount of gear they're carrying it seems like the chieftess took your request seriously. Not that that's a surprise: she doesn't seem to have much of an alternative. The chieftess barks some orders to the roguish goblin, who nods and turns to look at you expectantly. You take a look at the summary descriptions of your new allies.
Level 3 Goblin Rogue
This goblin has eschewed the spears and bows wielded by his kin in favour of mastery with crude, jagged knives. He is even stealthy by goblin standards. At least when he isn't setting things on fire.
+ Hit-and-run tactics.
+ Stealthy
+ Melee combat
- Ranged combat
- Strength
- Staying power
Level 2 Goblin
Goblins are cowardly but effective combatants. They work best in numbers, can be very stealthy when they mean to, and fight effectively with spears and bows. Their frenzied chanting and love of fire earns them the hatred of humans, elves, and especially dwarves.
+ Hit-and-run tactics
+ Stealthy
+ Ranged combat
- Melee combat
- Strength
- Staying power
You grin. "Pleasure doing business with you. Tlax!" you snap your fingers and a plume of flame bursts from the fire pit. Tlax rushes to your side, casting a few suspicious glances at the goblins following behind you. Exiting the cave, you look at the sun to determine the direction of the monastery and set out through the undergrowth.
What do you find when you get there?
