James disregarded the coffee in front of him. "Well...let's start with what we know, then. The easiest problem to find is...we uh..."

Exhausted, Sally flopped back in her seat. "We fucked, James. We. Brother and sister. Fucked. In your shower...with an alien."

He nodded. "So the problem is, we have a problem with it?"

She shook her head. "Why, though?"

"...because we lost control?"

"So, what, if we had done it without her involved we would've been okay with it?"

James shook his head. "No...we wouldn't have ever done it. But we did, and we know it...she's not the problem, is she?"

Sally shook her head. "She had no idea...and you saw what she looked like after. She was...happy. Even confused why we weren't."

"Yeah...so the problem is, we...had sex. We didn't intend to. We want to be angry but if it's at ourselves, we won't be okay..."

Sally bit her lip. "The problem is... I want to feel that good again. Just..."

"On our own terms...", James finished. Sally nodded. He looked her over, now unable to keep himself from seeing how sexy his sister was. "It really was...amazing."

She nodded. "Yeah...I bet if we didn't care so much about being siblings..."

"Do we have to?", he mused.

She sighed. "I don't want to think that way..."

"What way? Like everyone else? Maybe we wouldn't have done it if she weren't involved, but...we did. What if the real problem is, we want it and we don't feel like we're allowed to have it?"

She rolled her eyes. "What exactly is 'it', James? Sex?"

He shook his head. "No, a relationship. What if the reason it's such a big deal is that we know now, for sure, we fit really well together, but everything we've been taught says we can't be together?"

"What would that change? We still couldn't...", she crossed her arms and cast her gaze to the side.

"Unless we decide we can...", he offered with a shrug.

She bit her lip, weighing her morals against this new idea. "Maybe you're...a little right. If you weren't my brother... we'd have already gone again, and probably make a really great couple..."

"I kinda think so...it does feel weird to think about, but...maybe the real problem is us telling ourselves we can't have the best partner we've each found?"

She sighed. "I don't know...maybe. If that's true... we'll never work with anyone now that we know."

"Then why try to work with anyone else? Maybe...we need to test the waters a little."

Sally gave him a squinted, investigative look. "You think so? ...If we're going to test it, we test it right."

"Meaning?"

She raised her chin, "You take me to dinner...and we pretend we aren't siblings for a night. If it clicks...maybe we keep ignoring that part."

"You pick the place, I'll pay the bill?"

He noticed the blush on her face. He felt his stomach flutter, and imagined that she felt the same. She nodded. "Steak house. Tonight. You get miss fish to behave so we can go out, and we'll see if we click."

James bit his lip. "There's one other thing...Fran said she wants me to take her on a date."

"When?"

"She didn't say...more just left it up to me."

Sally shrugged. "Well...then I'll tell her what we're trying. She's not going to judge, I know that...and if we work, then she'll be okay with finding another guy. She's got lots of friends, and a few crushes to pick from, and no trouble being attractive."

"And that's not unfair to her?"

Sally shook her head. "If it goes that way... she knows I don't have great chemistry with most guys...so she'll understand if I don't let her snatch up the only exception."

"Well...I guess I'd better dress nice, huh?"

Sally have a sharp nod. "Damn right. I won't be dating a slob."
