I let time start again then watch as Janet does a double-take. “I’m going mad,” she muttered to herself. “I must be going fucking mad!” Then she slowly peered into her handbag for a moment before slowly pulling out a wristwatch like it was some sort of poison snake. “Oh, Christ!” she muttered as she dropped it back into her bag. Taking her keys, she opened her front door and let herself in, slamming the door behind her. Even out where I was hiding, I could hear her slamming the bolts home – as if that would stop me! All went quiet for a moment then, from the kitchen, came a female cry of despair… I guessed that she just found that her frozen food was half defrosted…
