The thing about the small swarms of Broodlings that were the main scouts of the Nest and the ones whom would attempt to capture or immobilize targets is they were very weak when noticed. Particularly when there were small numbers of them, the enemy was on alert, and heavily armed.

The Amazon Brigade had plenty of experience fighting them, and while many of the girls were fresh out of training camp as recruits, there was a majority of veterans in the legion. So the recruits could learn 'on the job'.

Another group of light infantrywomen that had a variation in armor.. This reinforced squad all had armored style 'skirts' hanging over their legs down to their knees and armored leg plates. The patterning of the armor allowed them to maintain mobility while having extra protection for themselves. They were moving in groups of four as opposed to the normal three of a fireteam. And going slower. This wasn't a sweep operation, it was a clear and sweep. So rather than the normal 'leapfrog' they would go slowly, and be ready to unleash maximum firepower at small targets.

Concentrated sensor sweeps set for mobile targets would work well. "There they are!" One of the section leaders would call. "In the vent!" A group of Broodlings had been going through the vents in the walls for circulation to try and bypass squads to flank them. Concentrated needlegun fire and heavier mag-rifles wouldn't have an issue with punching through the light paneling and blasting them.

A cocky girl would call out, "Two for me! We'll get this done in no time! Gal iwth the fewest kills gets the booze!

Her section leader would snap at her, "Focus. WE're not flygirls. Pay damned attention or they'll get the drop on.." As another Broodling would try and be dropping on ehr from the ceiling, three other infantrywomen would blast up at it, goo dropping all over the section leader. "Sweep and advance!"
