Chapter 18 by thesuperman90 thesuperman90

What is the consensus?

Sean should stay at the dance

Brad put his arm up on one of Sean's broad shoulders and nodded. "I hear what you're saying dude. It's good of you to offer to come, but with everything going on and you not knowing him as well as the rest of us, why don't you just stay here and enjoy the dance?"

Sean nodded to the captain of the team and smiled, "Give him my best though, okay?"

Brad nodded and said, "Sure bro. No worries." Then all of the guys started to head for the exit.

A thought occurred to Sean and he rushed after Brad for one last question, "Brad! One sec...I heard through the grapevine that Jess is your date tonight..." He was trying to get the quarterback to see where he was going.

"Yeah...so?" Brad got this look in his eye and smiled, almost sinisterly, "Listen, when you see Jess just tell her I'll swing by her place after we're done at the hospital. OK?"

The taller of the two teens looked down to Brad and nodded, unsure of what that look meant. The quarterback patted Sean on the shoulder once and chuckled as he turned around, following his teammates out the door. Left alone with his thoughts for a moment, Sean wanted to approach Jessica about something... a couple of things, actually, but he didn't want to come across as being frivolous with wishes.

The DJ's music died down and the whole room seemed to go silent. When Sean looked up he saw her and his heart began beating quickly in his chest.

Jess's dress was perfect in every way to Sean's eyes. It was cut low enough that about a mile of cleavage was showing, tight enough that he could see the head cheerleader was not wearing a bra, and barely wearing underwear. He was trying to find out how the bright blue strapless dress was not falling off of her breasts when he looked up into her emerald green eyes. Sean approached her and smiled as he motioned for her to spin, which she did, surprisingly... and her ass looked even more amazing.

"Wow," was all he could say, breathlessly and with much less room in his relaxed blue jeans than he started the dance with.

Jess for her part was trying to keep herself calm. She had been perky, peppy, and more than a little horny all day. She was excited to let that out in a fun, constructive way with Brad, despite her earlier disappointment in the way he asked her out. When she had seen the way Sean's eyes seemed to inspect every single curve of her body, and then had asked her to twirl with just a motion of his finger, she didn't want to disappoint him. She blushed and giggled, going over to him so they could talk.

"So...you like the dress?" The buxom blonde was normally more confident in her assessment of herself, but since Brad didn't seem readily available to compliment her, she really wanted Sean's opinion.

Sean rolled his eyes at her and shook his head, saying with a sarcastic tone in his deep voice, "Nope. Sorry Cinderelli. You didn't make it in time and your dress has transformed back into rags." He finished his statement with a chuckle and a grin, "You look amazing... as always Jess."

The cheerleader blushed deeper, and had to look away or she would probably start bleeding out through her cheeks. She stood on her tip toes over the crowd, looked around, and then back at Sean from the dance floor, "Have you seen Brad? Was he still in the locker room?"

Not one to shy away from bad news he squared his shoulders, looked her in the eyes, firmed his jaw, and told her the truth as he knew it, "Brad and the rest of the team left for the hospital to see Greg about three minutes ago. Brad told me to tell you that he would swing by your house later... but there's someth..."

"A few minutes ago you said?" Jessica interrupted him with an angry look and a hand to his lips.

Sean nodded, her hand still on his lips. She removed her hand and pulled a cellphone out from her small purse and checked, a firm, tight-lipped look crossing her face.

"Nope. No text messages," she said outloud to no one in particular as she slapped her hand down on her thigh. Jess looked up into Sean's soft, but bright blue eyes, "What is it about me that attracts the worst kind of guy?"

Sean chuckled and shook his head and looked down into her big emerald eyes that matched the ring on his finger, "I take offense at that, by the way. I'm attracted to you and I don't think I'm the worst kind of guy." Sean shrugged, "Besides, you don't really know what Brad thinks of you. Something tells me that he is only out for one thing tonight... and it wasn't to dance with you to your favorite song."

Sean explained the look he had seen on Brad's face, and how sinister it had seemed. Jess brushed it off, but Sean didn't want to let it go that easily. "Listen, there's a way to protect yourself, and get the information you need about Brad." He held up his finger and Jessica got his meaning.

What does Sean suggest?
