James took several deep breaths. He tried to keep Aurora comforted by wrapping an arm around her while she lay in his lap. It helped calm her down, but **** his mind to replay what he could remember of the intense three-way he'd just been part of.
He smacked the back of his head into the wall. "Dammit...I need to not think about this right now..."
His phone beeped out a text tone. He stood slowly to go grab it, **** for any distraction he could get.
His boss, Lee, had sent a text to the entire company. All operations we're being suspended pending investigation of an alleged patent infringement by the R&D department. The company is to halt all development, and engineering.
Great.
With a sigh, he forwarded the text to Sally. Along with a message.
<No work for now. I'll be here with her, you don't need to come over.>
He'd hoped for a real response, even though he knew it was selfish and unreasonable. He wasn't shocked when he received a single letter back.
