Nothing, actually.

Druuna slept peacefully in the cool waters and was awoken by the sounds of croaking frogs and chirruping birds the next morning. She was initially confused as to how she had gotten in the water, but Druuna quickly realized that she had fallen asleep by accident. Quickly gathering up her clothes and supplies, Druuna broke camp and made her way towards Greenport.

The rain had just started to fall when she caught sight of the city gates. Druuna ran to the gates, hoping to get out of the rain before it started to really pour. There was only one man on guard duty today, a thick muscled man with a heavy brown beard in leather armor and faded old rain jacket. Druuna presented her city pass to the man and he let her inside Greenport.

Druuna made her weary way to the Lusty Mermaid Inn, trying to stay under awnings and overhangs and out of the downpour. When she opened the wooden doors to the Inn, a jolly Walter greeted her with a bit of warm food and hard liquor by the inn’s fireplace. He asked her about her trip and helped her get warmed up from the piercing cold of the rainstorm. After eating and talking with Walter Miflin for awhile, Druuna excused herself and went to her room.

“There is nothing more beautiful after a long trip, than the sight of ones own bed.” She thought to herself as she dropped her pack on the floor and locked her door. After stripping out of her still-wet clothes, Druuna sat down on her bed and massaged her aching muscles. The rigors of travel and battle had sunk deep into her ligaments and bones. She ached all over and Druuna was quite sure she wouldn’t be moving much for awhile.

Sleeping in a real bed and not the hard ground for the first time in almost a week; Druuna quickly passed out into a snoring pile and didn’t awaken until late in the morning the next day. It was Tuesday (at least as far as anyone could tell. Calendars from before the disaster weren’t always accurate, but by most peoples standard it was Tuesday) and the market wouldn’t be fully running until tomorrow, so Druuna decided to have a short breakfast in her room and read one of the books she had gotten from the ancient mall. She had 171 caps still left, so she wouldn’t need to go to the market for money right away. Druuna read the covers of the books excitedly, almost giddy over all the old knowledge just waiting for her to read it. One was a heavy book with pictures of odd tools and machines on the cover that read “basic Engineering”, one had all kinds of plants and said “A farm’s biology”. One had odd pictures of people and read “Forty years of history”, another was called “The Microchip”, one with bright yellow pictures said “Electricity: A children’s book” and finally there was a book with pictures on the cover that made Druuna blush a bit and it read “The beginners Kama Sutra”.
