She stays

“Oh, Jen,” Ella said and rolled her eyes. “I am not afraid.” She sat down on the couch. Jen started to read from the book and Ella noticed that some strange feeling came up in her head. Something sounded so wrong. Jen kept reading and moved her finger along the lines.

Outside wind had picked up and was wooshing around the house. Ella looked around but her friends seem to be fixed on the book. Then she noticed something else. Jen seemed to read faster and more as if she was understanding what she was reading. She looked up and realized that her friend's eyes started to glow reddish.

“Jen?” she said but the question got swallowed by the storm now raging around the house. The letters on the book now started to glow red too. A moment later a red flash blinded her and made the room disappear.
