Invite your client for a quick drink

Realizing you must have been rude checking your watch, you invite your client to join you for a drink at XS.

"My friend Katy is supposed to me meeting me at the club. I'm sure she would love to meet you."

"Sounds great," replies the client, an Italian with olive skin, "but why don't you call her and ask her to meet us at my private club?"

"Sure, why not," you reply - after all you have been interested in visiting his club. You call Katy.

"Hey Katy, my client just invited me to his club for a drink. You are welcome to join us, he said he would love to meet you, but I do need to talk a little more business with him, so if you come over - just be prepared to make this the priority."

"Happy to come to you guys," replies Katy, "I'll text you when I get there so you can walk me in."

"Great - see you in a few."

Your client and you head to his club, which is even more impressive than XS and even more exclusive. There must be some high rollers at this club because you both have to pass through metal detectors and security to enter the main club lobby.

You and the client start on your first drinks and chat for a bit, but you are interrupted by the vibration of your phone. A text message appears on the screen...

"I'm here outside of security; they say you have to escort me in."

You reply to Katy's text, "be right there...".

You head to the lobby to escort her in. As Katy goes through security, the metal detector goes off.

Katy is asked to step back. This time she removes her earrings and bracelet and puts them with her purse in the conveyor belt that runs through security. She steps back through the metal detector.

"Beep, beep, beep..."

Again the guard asks her to step back and remove any additional metal items. Katy suddenly turns a bit red of embarrassment and whispers in your ear...

"I just realized why this thing is going off...," she pauses. "It was supposed to be a surprise for you tonight, but I got a piercing in a bit of a private place while your were in your meetings today."

Ok - wow. Wasn't expecting that and how to resolve this with security.

"Is there less public area where you can do a hand inspections?" you ask the guard?

"Yes - she can follow me this way," he replies as Katy squeezes your arm tightly with some concern.

"Any chance you have a female guard on duty?" you ask the guard.

"Not tonight. If you want her into the club she will have to come with me," responds the guard.
