What Is Covered For That In The Small Council??
The Logistics, How Such A Colossal Monster Got South At All, and The Master Of Laws, Master Of Coin, and Master Of Ships
Aegon and The Small Council Sat In Silence As Aegon Slid The Relative Sources Of Information To The Council Members. "I'm Gonna Be Honest, I Don't Know Where I Presently Am, So Let's Just Assume The Master Of Laws and Ships Are Empty. Lord Tyrion I'm Dismissing You From The Position Of Master Of Coin and Raising You To The Master Of Laws, Send A Raven To Your Father Asking Him To Come To Court and Serve As Master Of Coin, Meanwhile As Far As The Master Of Ships Is Concerned, I Want Randyll Tarly Serving In That Capacity. But Onto The More Pressing Issues, Namely The Mammoth We Encountered and The Call To Arms I've Raised. We'll Start With The Mammoth, Since It's The Least Taxing Conversation Amongst Them. Grand Maester?" Asks Aegon. "Yes, Well, My Studies Would Go A Lot Quicker If The Beast Wasn't So Irritable." Says Pycelle. "What My Nephew Means Is How Did The Creature Get South In The First Place." Says Oberyn. "Thank You Uncle, I'm Glad To See I'm Not The Only One Here Who Studied At The Citadel and Didn't Become Usually Useless." Says Aegon, Looking At The Grand Maester Sideways. Aegon Turned His Attention To Lord Brynden.
"I Want No Harm To Befall The Creature Or It's Children, We Need To Learn As Much As We Can About It, If A Wildling Invasion Of The Reported Scale Is Indeed Underway, We Gonna Need Every Advantage We Can Get." Says Aegon. "I'll Write A Letter To The Archmaesters Once The Council Is Over." Says Brynden. "Now Onto The Matter Of How The Creature Got Here, As Far As We Can Tell Castle Black Has The Only Tunnel Large Enough To Fit A Creature Of It's Size, Yet The Watch Has No Knowledge Of How It Could Be Possible? I'm Starting To Feel We Have To Consider The Mammoth Was In Hibernation Or Something." Says Aegon. "Some Creatures Of The Furry Variety Do Hibernate Come Winter It's True, But Mammoths? I Don't Know, Perhaps It's Possible This Creature Was Kept In An Oasis Of Sufficient Food and Water, But Then How Did It Get There? Maybe It Was Frozen and Only Recently Thawed?" Asks The Grand Maester. "Perhaps We Ought To Consider It's Wounds? When I Examined The Spear On Closer Inspection, It Was Not Of Westerosi Make, Hell's It Wasn't Even Of Essosi Make! It Was About As Foreign As A Dothraki In Old Valyria Would Be." Says Aegon. "What Of The Summer Islands?" Asks Varys. "No, Most Of Them Are Peace Lovers, and The Walking Parrot Didn't Recognise It Either." Says Aegon, Referring To The Summer Islands Prince With The Complicated Name.
"We Should Discuss The Possibilities When We Have More Information." Says Brynden. "So Be It, Onto The Matter Of Logistics. We're Gonna Need Food and Weapons, Armor, Materials To Outfit and Upgrade Them, and Enough Layers To Stay Only Slightly Chilly." Says Aegon. "What Of The Vanguard?" Asks Brynden. "Well, Knights Of The Vale Are Easily The Seven Kingdoms First True Knights, and Their Discipline Is Feared and Respected. But I Feel Our Prospective Master Of Ships Should Lead The Vanguard, He Did Hand Robert Baratheon His Only Loss Before The Trident After All." Says Aegon. "Lord Tarly Is Tough, But He Is Fair." Says Brynden. "I'm Glad You Agree Lord Blackfish, Because Your Leading The Forces Coming In From Eastwatch-By-The-Sea To Hit The Wildlings In The Side. Meanwhile A **** Of Stormlanders, Men Of The Reach, and Northmen Will Cross The Bone Bridge and Through Icemark To Ride Them Down From The Other Side, This **** Will Be Lead By Ser Lyn Corbray and Lord Karstark Respectively. While They Are Striking From The Sides, Roughly Half Our Royal Forces Will Be Manning The Wall and Castle Black, While An Additional **** Of Twelve Thousand Men-At-Arms, Cavalry, and Archers Will Wait Until The Wildlings Who Are Behind The Wall Start Attacking Before Riding In." Says Aegon. "What Makes You So Sure They'll Already Be Behind The Wall?" Asks Oberyn. "Mance Rayder Will Have Sent A Portion Of His Forces South Already, He Was A Former Black Brother, He Knows The Watch's Defenses, But He Doesn't Know We're Going To Be Backing Him Up Against The Wall On All Sides." Says Aegon. "How Does This Involve Logistics?" Asks Oberyn. "It Tells Us Who and How Many Will Be Needing What Materials To Have The Strength Needed To Strike Where and When Most Effectively." Says Aegon Drinking His Dornish Red In Contained Sips.
"Where Will You Be Your Grace?" Asks Lord Tyrion. "I'll Be Part Of The **** In Castle Black, Your Lord Father Will Join Me, and So Will Three Thousand Lannister Men-At-Arms, Two Thousand Tyrell Men-At-Arms, and One Thousand Arryn Men-At-Arms. Ser Mandon Moore and Ser Barristan Will Lead Twenty Thousand Men At The Foot Of The Wall While The Thirty Thousand Men On Either Side **** Will Be Coming A Little Late. The **** Commanded By Selmy and Moore Will Mostly Be Men Of The North, The Reach, and Westerlands. While We're North, Only A Few People Shall Hold Sway Over The Court. "Margaery, Sansa, and Myrcella Will Sit On The Thrones, But I Want The Real Power Held By An Acting Hand Of The King While Lord Brynden, Myself, Lord Tywin, and Lord Tarly Are Away." Says Aegon. "And Who Shall Be This Acting Hand Of The King Dear Nephew?" Asks Oberyn. "I'm So Very Glad You Asked That Uncle, Because It's You." Says Aegon, and His Uncle Chokes and Coughs Up His Wine. "Nephew, I Don't Think I'm Exactly Qualified To Be The Hand, Even As Acting Hand." Says Oberyn. "Which Is Exactly Why I'm Naming You Hand, Can't Be Any Worse Than The Other Choices." Says Aegon Idly Glancing At A Still Indignant Pycelle and Drunken Tyrion. "Oh Fine." Says Oberyn. "Now That That's Settled, I Wish to Discuss Something Else, The Succession. Until I Have A Son, Trueborn Or Otherwise, Rhaenyra Is My Heir." Says Aegon, and With That Drains His Cup and Leaves The Council Chamber.
Almost Immediately After Leaving Aegon Finds His Way To The Office Of Varys, and Waits For Him To Arrive. "What Can I Do For You Your Grace?" Asks Varys as He Sits At His Desk. "I Want To Increase Trade Throughout The Realm, If I Know The Imp Of Casterly Rock, Our Finances Are Fucked, Which Means We Need To Begin Shoring Up Our Taxes, Begin Tightening Our Grip On Luxury Goods Coming Into The City, and The Other Ports In The Realm. I Want Your Birds To Scatter Across The Realm, and Become Situated In Every Single House Of Westeros and Every Town, Whorehouse, Tavern, and Inn Of Any Real Note and Repute." Says Aegon. "That's A Tall Order." Says Varys. "I Know Which Is Why I Want You To Focus On Recruiting New Little Birds In The Areas You Send Them To. Hopefully It Should Lessen The Burden, But For Now, See About Trying Rooting Corruption In Our Cities Offices Of Influence Beneath The Small Council." Says Aegon, As He Passes Varys A Sealed Letter. "This Is A Writ Empowering You To Overturn Any Decision My Uncle Makes That Carries More Risk Than Reward, Just Make Sure You Have My Mother's Backings On It Beforehand." Says Aegon As He Departs, and Decides To Pay A Visit To His Daughters.
Aegon Watched His Girls In Quiet Pride, He Loved His Daughters, and Should He Never Gain A Son, Then In The End, A Daughter Was Just As Good, It Just Meant The Iron Throne Would Have To Adopt A Succession Stance Of Equal Primogeniture For A While. Rhaenyra Was Already So Beautiful, and He Hoped She'd Inherit Both The Beauty Of Her Mother and Namesake, But Not The Rebellious Nature Of The Latter. Rhaenyra, One Day May Be Queen Of The Seven Kingdoms, The First True Royal Monarch To Rule Unopposed By A Jealous Male Sibling Or Relative, Now That Would Be Something, and Perhaps, If The Lord Of Light Was Kind, Aegon Could Retire and Give His Child The Crown So He Could Go On and Fuck Without Reprisal....Yeah, Probably Not....
Aegon Had Been Saddened, Any Plans To March North Had To Be Delayed, Because The Bedridden Great Uncle Of Aegon, Ser Lewyn Martell, Had At Last Died Of His Wounds Sustained From Lyn Corbray At The Trident. This Meant A Kingsguard Spot Was Open, and Aegon Began To Reconsider His Plan To Have Ser Barristan Lead The Twenty Thousand Men Below The Wall, Though No Spring Chicken, He Still Had More Fight In Him Than Lewyn and Whent, Which Raised Another Issue, Whent Wasn't Bedridden, But He Was As Old As King Jaehaerys The First If Looks Were Any Indication. Though No Longer A Follower, He Paid Respect To His Uncle As A Follower Of The Seven, Even If He Had Been Lusting For His Red Priestess.
A Small Party Was Held To Honor Ser Lewyn, and Aegon Had Been Pounding Melisandre Harder and Harder Before He Arrived, The Woman Was A True Vixen, Her Ravenous Sexual Apetite Rivaling Rhaenys, Robert Baratheon, and The Sand Snakes. Aegon Put Up With The Pleasantries and Condolences Even As He Kept One Hand Firmly On Nym's Rear. Varys Pulled Him Away For But The Briefest Of Moments. "Your Grace, You May Wish To Stop At The Stoney Sept On Your Way To Castle Black, I Hear The Local Brothel Has A Prostitute Who Claims Herself To Be Robert Baratheon's Bastard." The Plump Spymaster Had Said. "Thanks For The Information Lord Varys, I'll Keep It In Mind." Aegon Had Replied As He Had Begun To Lose His Stomach For Political Pleasantries When He Could Be Fighting Beside His Brother.
Aegon and The Royal Host Had Marched To The Stoney Sept, and Aegon Marched Into The Peach To Hire Bella, A Suspected/Claimed Baratheon Girl. When He Saw Her, He Immediately Knew Her Claim Was Truth and Legitimised Her On The Spot, But Not Before Hiring Her Services On A Continued Basis. He Would Fuck Myrcella As A Wife, and Her Now Legitimised Sister As A Paramour. After The Fact, He Made Introductions To Myrcella and Stannis. The Latter Hardly Pleased To Have Another Contender For His Seat, But At The Same Time Grateful For The Potential Marriage Prospects To Strengthen House Baratheon and The Stormlands As A Whole. Stannis Had Voiced His Desire To Further Bind House Baratheon To The Crown and Requested Aegon's Permission To Seek Out A Marriage Alliance With House Martell Of Dorne, Through Bella and Trystane, Which Aegon Granted, But Only After Pumping His Royal Seed Inside Her Many Times Over Throughout The Night. And Thus With No Reason Holding Them In The Town Anymore, The Royal Party Had Continued Onward To Castle Black and Winterfell, Aegon Personally Savored Every Night He Spent Abed With Bella, Capping It With Spilling His Potent Royal Seed In Fertile Belly, and Making Sure She Got Pregnant Before She Met Trystane. He Realised This Would Mean He Technically Cuckolded His Cousin, But Better Trystane Than Quentyn. That Said, The Fact It Happened Before The Marriage Pact Had Been Offered Didn't Technically Make It Cuckoldry, Even If Bella Ended Up Pregnant With His Child.
Aegon's Royal Host Was Now Split Between Three Forces, The Twenty Five Thousand Men Of Lord Brynden's Host Had Taken Ship To Eastwatch, While The Twenty Thousand Men Co-Commanded By Ser Lyn Corbray and Lord Karstark Split Up At Icemark and The Bone Bridge. Aegon Ordered Ser Richard To Accompany Ser Lyn, and Evaluate Him For Kingsguard Membership, But Not To Tell Ser Lyn Of That Little Bit Of Information. Meanwhile, It Had Been Decided That Ser Barristan Was Too Valuable To Waste In A Suicide Mission Below The Wall, and Instead Moore Was Joined By Ser Oswell Whent. Ser Arthur Stood Beside Aegon As Always, While Ser Barristan Was Sent To Fight Beside Lord Brynden, and Ser Garth Was Ordered To Fight Beside Lord Karstark. Aegon Knew Ser Oswell Would Likely Die, and While Regrettable and Somewhat Cruel To Send Him Knowingly To His ****, It Was A Better Option Than Losing Barristan, The Man Was More Or Less The Same Age As Whent, But Still Had The Fight To Survive In Him, Just A Lot More Than Whent. Meanwhile The Main **** Of The Thirty Five Thousand Men Not Including The Twenty To Be Posted Below The Wall, Was Commanded By Aegon Himself, With Ser Arthur At His Side and Lord Tywin and Lord Eddard Behind Them. Eddard Refused To Let Tywin Out Of His Sight, and Instead Chose To Accompany The King In Their Defence Of Castle Black.
Aegon Knew His Father Had Financed Several Renovations To The Half-Crumbling Fortresses Of The Wall and Night's Watch, But Had No Clue How Well Down The Repairs Had Been Completed, Nor How Far Along They Were, If At All. If The Repairs Had Been Done Well Enough, Aegon Would Be Willing To Post A Few Hundred Men At Each Castle and With Any Luck Could Make The Sky Light Up With Flaming Arrows and Burning Oil. If They Made It Fast Enough, Aegon Hoped To Make Thing's Interesting For The Wildlings, He'd Have The Tree's Cut Down, and Have Traps Laid In The Cleared Space, Little Pits With Wildfire and Sharpened Spikes, Covered By Snow and Debris. If The Lord Of Light Smiled, and Aegon Believed He Would, They Could Beat Back The Wildlings Once and For All.
As Aegon's Chief Officers Marched Up To Castle Black Behind Him On Horseback With Lord Commander Mormont Waiting To Greet Them, Aegon Dismounted and Found A Battered and Bruised Watch. "Did We Miss The Fun?" Aegon Asks. "Unfortunately No, We've Suffered A Mutiny, and Your Brother Was Wounded Saving Me." Says Jeor. "Where Are They?" Asks Aegon. "Craster's Keep." Says Jeor. "Lord Tywin, How Quickly Can Your Son Ready A **** Of Five Hundred Men?" Asks Aegon. "Shouldn't Take Very Long Your Grace." Says Lord Tywin. "Then See It Done, Lord Eddard, I Want You To Brief Lord Commander Mormont On Our Strategies, Ser Arthur Check In With The Master-At-Arms and See If You Can Learn The Current State Of Preparations. I'll See To My Brother." Says Aegon.
As He Walked To The Maester's Quarters, Aegon Was Greeted By The Fattest Man He'd Ever Laid Eyes Upon. "By The Lord's Light, Who Are You Supposed To Be?" Asks Aegon. "I'm Samwell Tarly, and Who Are You Supposed To Be Exactly?" He Replies. "I'm The Guy Who Wears The Crown and Sits Atop The Iron Throne, and I'm Also The Guy Who Rode Into Castle Black With Your Lord Father." Says Aegon. "You Mean...Your King Aegon? Sixth Of His Name? The Summer Dragon? The Dragon Of Dorne? The Summer King?" Asks Samwell. "You've Done Your Homework I See? Why Lord Randyll Would Send You Here Is Beyond Me. What? Unlike Your Father, I Find Scholarly Pursuits Actually Pleasing, I Mean I Did Forge A Complete Maester's Chain, But Never Took The Vows." Says Aegon. "You've Been To The Citadel At Oldtown? What's It Like?" Asks Samwell. "You Wouldn't Believe Me If I Told You, But Let Me Just Say That It's Fantastic. Now, Where Can I Find Jon Snow?" Asks Aegon. "Ah, Follow Me Your Grace." Says Samwell. Aegon Followed The Fat Black Brother and Was Taken To The Room, and He Found Two More Brother's Before Him and Beside His Brother. "And Who The Fuck Are You Supposed To Be?" The Taller One Asks. "Are You An Idiot? That's His Grace, King Aegon! Sixth Of His Name!" The Smaller One Whispers To Him. "He's Also My Brother." Says Jaehaerys. "What?" Asks Samwell and The Other Two.
"Well Jaehaerys, You'll Be Glad To Know The Men We've Brought With Us Outnumber The Wildling Forces By Just A Thousand Men, But Right Now, We're Leading Five Hundred Men To Deal With Those Mutineers. "Who's Leading It?" Asks Jon. "Ser Jamie Lannister, I Plan To Join Him." Says Aegon. "You'll Need One Of Us To Show You The Way." Says The Smaller One. "With Respect, I Don't Know Either Of You, and That Means I Can't Trust You, My Brother's The Only One I Plan To Take With Me, So Get Your Ass Out Of Bed, and Grab Yourself A Sword, We've Got Mutineers To Gut, and Time Is Not On Our Side." Says Aegon Before Stopping In His Tracks. "One More Thing, Better You Hear It Now, and From Me. Dany Is Dead, She Died Giving Birth To Our Daughter Rhaenyra, You Really Ought To Meet Your Nieces Jae." Says Aegon Stiffly Before Departing.
As Aegon Exits Into The Wintry Air, He's Greeted By Ser Jamie and Sandor Clegane. "Your Grace, We're Ready To Depart, We Just Need Your Orders." Says Ser Jamie. "Here's Your Order, I'm Coming With You, and So Is Prince Jaehaerys." Says Aegon As His Brother Leaves With A Sword Slung At His Hip. "Your Grace,I Hardly Think It's Wise To Send Yourself and Your Only Male Heir Into The Face Of **** Before The Big Battle." Says Ser Jamie. "Do You Want To Redeem Yourself Or Not?" Aegon Asks Pointedly. "Yes.' Says Jamie After Some Hesitation. "Then Don't Bloody Argue With Me and Follow Me Instead. Ser Arthur, You In Charge Of Our Forces Until We Return." Says Aegon As He and Jaehaerys Led Ser Jamie and The Five Hundred Lannister Men Towards The Tunnel Beneath The Wall.
On The Way Down, Aegon and Jaehaerys Begin To Speak. "How Did Daenerys Die?" Asks Jon. "We Were Given A Choice, Save Her and Lose The Baby and Any Chance Of A Future Child, Or Save The Baby and Lose Dany. Dany Begged Me To Save The Babe, and I Did. Her Name's Rhaenyra, and She's Two Siblings, Visenya and Cassandra. In The Interest Of Cementing Alliances I Chose Two New Queens, But They've Thus Far Not Given Me A Child. But I Did Have A Son, If You Count The Stillbirth." Says Aegon Sadly. "I'm Sorry Egg." Says Jaehaerys. "Not Nearly As Sorry Ass I Am, Tyene Was Inconsolable When It Happened, Unless It Was Me Consoling Her." Says Aegon. "I Can't Wait To Meet Them." Says Jon. "I'm Sure They Can't Wait To Meet You, But When We Beat Mance, Your Mission Is Done, and Your Coming Home, I'll Have No Arguments Jon, We Both Know Your Mother Would Skin Me Alive If I Let You Stay Here, Crown Or Not." Says Aegon. "Yeah, I Know." Says Jon. "Good, Now Lead The Way." Says Aegon.
The Five Hundred Lannister Men and Aegon, Jon and Jamie Sat A Fair Distance Out From The Keep. "You Know The Terrain and The Layout Of The Keep, Any Suggestions?" Asks Ser Jamie. "The Mutineers Are Likely Drunk From Wine and Sleeping Off Their ****. If We Can Surprise Them, We Should Be Able To Take Them Down Quickly." Says Jon. "good, Listen Closely, We'll Attack From All Sides, Jon You Take The West, Ser Jamie Attack From The South, I'll Attack From The East." Says Aegon. "Sounds Good." Says Jon. "Agreed." Says Jamie. "Alright We Split Up The Men Equally and Attack As One." Says Aegon.
The Men Are Split Up and Aegon Begins To Creep Closer With his Group Until They're At The Entrances. "Three...Two...One...!" Says Aegon As He Kicks In The Door and Is Quickly Copied By Ser Jamie and Jaehaerys, Their Forces Pour In and Begin Cutting Down Mutineers Aegon and Jon Corner The Apparent Leader. "This The Leader?" Aegon Asks. "Aye, You Could Call Me That, Whose Your Friend Snow?" Asks The Man. "Show So Fucking Respect To My Brother! He's No Bastard, He's Prince Jaehaerys Targaryen, and I Am His Elder Brother King Aegon!" Says Aegon, and When The Man's Distracted By The Information Process, Aegon Lunges For Him Blade In Hand. The Man Parries It With His Knives and Aegon Quickly Begins To Back Him Into A Corner, Before Knocking One Dagger From His Grasp and Slamming His Pommel Into The Leader's Face. "Take The Women, I Won't Have Them Reporting This To Mance, Meanwhile Round Up The Survivors, and Take Them and The Women Back To Castle Black, We've Got To Burn This Place To The Ground." Says Aegon. "You Sure? We Could Always Leave It." Says Jamie. "I'm Sure, What These Men Did Here, The Women Don't Need The Reminder, Burn It Down." Says Aegon. "Right Away Your Grace." Says Jamie.
After Trekking Back To Castle Black With Women and Prisoners, Aegon and Jon Were Greeted As Heroes By The Night's Watch, and Aegon Soon Took To His Quarters, and Shared His Heat With Taena and Bella. While Ser Arthur Stood Guard Outside. He Was About Ready To Peak and Spend Himself When The Door Opened. "What is So lasted Important You Had To Interrupt Me While I Was Doing This?" Aegon Demands, But See's Jon. "Egg! You Better Come See This." Says Jon, With A Look That Is Very Telling. "Alright Ladies, Up and Out The Way." Says Aegon As He Quickly Dons Every Piece Of Armor and Leather He Had Discarded To Fuck Taena and Bella. Once It's Been Donned Aegon Equips His Weapons and Quickly Fires Jon. "Oh Fuck Me." Says Aegon When He See's Why Jon Interrupted Him.
