Arrive at the dungeon.

Come the next morning, only an hour more of walking is needed before determining the location transcribed from Tom's note. Nestled within some hills, surrounded by trees, is a set of stone double doors covered in rocky debris. It looks as if it was recently beneath the surface, but something knocked the earth loose, and revealed an old door. It's already cracked open, presumably from the previous scouts. Though, what's more interesting is that the doors aren't the only thing you see.

Farther beyond, your party makes out a stone brick tower. It looks to be about ten more minutes of travel on foot to reach. There don't seem to be any other structures in the area. In any direction you look, there is no civilization.

"Maybe it's an old ruin," Niki guesses.

"It does not look like it is falling apart," Amara says.

You look between it and the doors. "We can check it out after. Let's see what this is all about first. Maybe whoever lives there doesn't even know this exists. They might be grateful if we clear it out a bit." And if we tell them first, they might claim all the treasure as theirs.

"That's pretty noble. All right. Let's peek inside," Eva says.

You and Niki push the hefty doors open. The stone grinds against the ground as the outdoor light spills into the dark staircase descending into the ground. Empty sconces line the walls, and despite it all looking old and worn, it seems to be holding together strongly. Niki remove a torch from her pack and lights the end with a flint and steel, and grasps it in her buckler hand's side.

"I'll lead the way," she says as she begins stepping down.

You follow behind, with Amara and Eva in the rear.

It isn't long before it's only the dim flicker of light from the torch lighting the way, with the exit disappearing behind. You finally reach the bottom of the staircase and step into a hallway going straight. Some of the sconces are entirely empty, while others hold torches that are long extinguished. The walls are made from bricks of stone, and the rocky ground has remnants of a red carpet that once led the way forwards. There's a rotting wooden door at the far end, and one on the right side. On the left, there's a passage that's completely blocked, with the rocks from a cave-in spilling into the hall.

"Take it easy," you say under your breath. "The entrance is probably safe, but Tom did say they weren't sure of everything here. There's ways they probably haven't gone."

Niki approaches the closest door on your right and grabs the knob. "I'm always careful," she lies as she peers inside. The room looks to be an old storage room, now filled with just scraps of wood and bits of fabric. "Nothing here."

She continues on to the end and tries the door. It pushes open, and your party steps into a larger room--one about twenty-five feet wide and long. Two columns hold up a ceiling that looks to be about fifteen feet up, though much of the room is empty. There's a hatch on the back right corner of the floor, but other than that, the only other exit you see is yet another collapsed tunnel to your right.
