Go after the Lynchers or choose something else?
Go after the Black Lynchers
“I’m sure I can handle anything they throw at me.” Lisa smiled confidently.
The sheriff looked disappointed, but ignoring his low look, Lisa strolled out the door and mounted her horse.
She found the pathway up to the Lynchers ranch a few miles out of town like the sheriff had said. The path was steep, and halfway up Lisa’s horse panicked and she was **** to continue on foot. By the time she had reached the top of the cliff, she was beat, but seeing the large ranch, her hopes raised.
The ranch appeared deserted, but as she made her way around the first of the three large buildings, she saw that there were thirty or so men, all wearing black making a half circle around a large tree. There was a rope tied to an outcropping branch, and the rope was tied around the neck of an older looking man. The man stood on an old plank, and the plank was only supported by a horse standing upon it.
Lisa pulled her gun and slowly began advancing on the men. She was careful to check around her to make sure there were no extra men waiting to ambush her, but it seemed that these Lynchers were so cocky that they felt no one would dare interfere with them. It was to her luck. But, as she made her way behind a haystack, she heard a whip, a horse panic, and galloping. When she looked up, she saw, to her horror, that the man had vanished and the rope was straining. She couldn’t have saved the man.
Now that the lynching was over, the black clothed cowboys were leaving, and much to Lisa’s dismay, she saw that they would soon be nearing her. She tightened her hold on her six shot pistol and counted her ammo. Even if she hit a cowboy with each bullet, that would only mean eighteen would be dead. She was outnumbered and outgunned.
Seeing that it would be useless to try and fight, she prayed for the best and sprinted from behind the haystack.
“Hey!” she heard someone yell from behind her, and she sprinted faster.
There were several gun shots as she ran, and though none of them hit her, she tripped over a branch and hit the ground. She let out a cry of pain as she landed on her arm, and as she stumbled to her feet, she clutched her arm. It was numb.
Though before she could even begin sprinting again, she felt someone tackle her to the ground. She was roughly brought to her feet, and she tried to pull against whoever had her arms pinned behind her back, but it was no use.
“Well what do we have here?” one of the Lynchers asked, advancing on her. “Pretty little woman. Those clothes seem a bit inappropriate for you, don’t you think?”
Lisa only glared at him. She could feel the arms behind her loosening, and she decided that this could be her only chance to fight and escape, or would it be worth it? She had to decide fast.
What does Lisa decide on?
