"A few hours later..."
on the 6th day ...
Limira and I were led to a different section of the castle along side the archivist to have my mark applied and to get more questions answered. Once we arrived in what looked like a library the archivist asked "Do you remember how you died or your previous world Honored Rogath?"
"Yeah, I remember the world I came from but god never told me how I died." Unsure if there was some other condition to getting the identification mark I asked. "Does that bear some significance to getting the mark or something else I don't know about?"
He didn't answer me right away instead setting a bottle of black ink on a table with a sheet of cloth and what looked like an old fashioned pen with a cloudy crystal for the writing tip. "All of these books are the life histories and origins of previous Rogath before you. They have been recorded as far back as the founding of the nations. Once your mark is applied and your rank recognized you will need to choose people to take the positions of those who will be your servants and advisor."
Watching the old man as he moved about setting other things aside and adding to the collection of items on the table infront of me I figured now was as good a time as any to get more details about being a Rogath and about the world.
"Why do I need servants and advisors, aren't the Rogath free to do what they want as long as it doesnt break the law?" It seemed a logical question to start with.
"You'll need the servants to take care of maintaining the estate and your other properties when you're not using them. Your advisor will help you learn about this world and your role in it as well as helping you make decisions on what to do in some situations. As a Rogath you will have a certain measure of fame and notoriety among the people of not only this nation but the others as well. While you are free to do whatever you want to, there have been times recorded in the histories when a Rogath was called on to make decisions as an arbiter settling disputes or passing judgement on people that would otherwise be above such things due to their rank."
huh, so I guess there are some responsibilities to go wit the title after all. "Do I have to pick from specific people to fill the positions available or can I pick anyone I want to?"
The old man paused for a moment as he seemed to be thinking before Achoooo "I do dislike the dust that accumulates here. No, there isn't anyone specific to chose from they just have to be someone you trust for them to be your advisor. The servants can be anyone you wish, hired from the city, people serving indentured service, slaves. As long as you want them you can choose them."
"I kinda killed somebody"
