Doe

“Excuse me, are you lost?” Doe calls out to you. When you turn to face her, a look of recognition comes over her face and she tries not to look embarrassed. “Sorry…I couldn’t see your face and I thought you might be lost. I didn’t want you getting caught outside when curfew ends.”

“It’s okay. I was on my way back to my room,” you tell Doe as you wave and walk off, wanting to end the awkward conversation as quickly as possible.

As you walk off, you think you hear Gina say, “So that’s him?” but she is quickly shushed amongst giggles and gasps. And you really don’t want to ask…especially when you notice Gina and Doe getting into a car with Dr. Balkin.

All of this makes you think that you might be in a bit over your head…especially when you find a small photo album on your bed full of blue pictures of Gina and Doe. Should you keep your Friday “appointment” or get out while you can?
