Run, Amy, run

One moment Amy was exploring one of the corridors of the Dalek asylum world. The next, she was frantically running back in a **** attempt to catch up with the Doctor.

"What is it, Amy?" asked the Doctor as he saw her running toward him.

Amy tried to tell him but she had been running so fast she had to catch her breath first.

Then, before she could say a word --

"Hold on there, Miss," said a voice behind her. "You're an official prisoner of the Guardians of the Galaxy."

"That cannot be possible," said the Doctor. "Because as far as I'm concerned, Amy is my companion and I am the only Guardian of this Galaxy. Or at least, the only one that matters."

"Listen, wise guy," said the mustached gentleman who had spoken. "I'm Peter Quill, the official head of the Guardians of the Galaxy -- and I've never heard of you."

"Well, I've saved entire universes when I wasn't guarding galaxies -- and I've never heard of you either, Mr.Quill," said the Doctor.

"Oh, yeah," said Peter Quill.

"Yeah," said the Doctor.

"Er, Doctor, can we settle all this at another time?" asked Amy. "Right now I'd be happy if this gentleman and his buddies don't shoot me."

"You were shooting at Amy?" asked the Doctor.

"Of course we were," said Peter Quill. "We thought she was a Dalek."

"I don't know why you'd make that mistake," said the Doctor. "She obviously doesn't look like a Dalek."

"True," said Peter Quill. "But if you knew anything about the Daleks, you know that they have a great many human agents who look nothing like Daleks. And anyway, if she's on this planet and not wearing a nano-watch, the chances are that if she isn't a Dalek yet, she'll become one eventually."

At this point, a song from Pagliacci started playing and a female voice said, "Is everything okay, Doctor?"

"Of course it is," said the Doctor. "Why do you ask?"

"Because there's a Dalek headed your way," said the voice.

"Really?" asked the Doctor. "Where?"

"I can't tell but it should be close," said the voice.

"That sounds like a definite reference to your 'companion'," said Peter Quill.

"Oh, really?" asked the Doctor. "Well, I'm pretty sure it isn't."

Then a Dalek emerged from an entrance behind the Doctor and started exclaiming, "Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate!"

"See there," said the Doctor. "Vindication!"
