A Messenger Arrives

Suddenly a familiar face runs into the garden, it is Cilis your most trusted messenger. The mere fact that you to were soldiers together proves how strong your bonds are and despite your position in the world you are not above admitting his skills.

He was and still is the fastest runner in the whole army, with the speed of a horse and grace of a cat it was not long after you became king that you ordered he deliver all of the most crucial news to you personally. “ My liege, I have word from the commanders in the fields, one of your enemies has fallen thanks to my liege's brilliant strategy” this makes you turn to see your wife ushering out the children and the new couple leave as well. “Well now that is excellent news Cilis, which one was it?”

Despite your peaceful homelands there are a few conflicts along the borders and over sea’s that your armies are involved in, as well as a small rebellion that has been going on for a few months which isn’t a major threat but you felt it best to nip it in the bud before it gets out of hand.

You think idly over the few fights that stand out in your mind, the rebellion sure but there are a few others.

The Icaii have been a thorn in your side for quite some time now, they dwell in the deep jungels across the sea, they are a superstitious lot who believe in magic and snake charming. the are supposedly very rich, and very beautiful.

There are also the wild beast people, barbarians dressed in animal clothing in the mountains far north of your cities that have incredible strength and supposedly of great size as well, the smallest seen being about six feet tall. They are a stubborn lot who refused to join you peacefully and been a problem for a short time now.

The wolf women who lie in tribe in the most south parts your kingdom also strike your mind; They are all women, they only gather males from surrounding settlements to mate before leaving them. Male children are rare as they have methods of ensuring female births. The men who are born are castrated and serve as priests for this strange society. They live in woods with packs of dogs and are very dominant in that territory which they defend fiercely.

Finally there is the small kingdom of Zelit, your neighboring kingdom if you could call it that, it is far smaller than yours in every way, so you never paid much care to it leaving it to do as it wished… that was until the upstart prince dared to try to instigate a fight with guards on the border. Though you doubt much would be gained such actions against you are unforgivable. But if one thing should come from this you hear the sister of the foolish ruler princess Judalia will be quite the prize.

“ Well Cilis what problem can I cross off my list today?” he smiles which tells you that this will be good.
