Chapter 52 by Twisted_Fellow Twisted_Fellow

How was Divi progressing? What would Lex find within that Pocket Kingdom?

Family bonding with a side of adventure!

After Lex had gotten dressed, some time had passed. Breakfast had been enjoyed by Lex, Sazla, and Divi, but after the dishes from breakfast were cleaned and put away, Divi started to speak. "Fable 2 has been very interesting to play, daddy. If I do kind things, the people fawn over me and tend to be easier to seduce. However, if I do selfish or evil things they cower or run away." She moved closer to Lex before continuing to speak. "Does this mean that if I am a good girl. That people will praise me too, daddy?" He chuckled and slipped a hand along her back while saying. "Of course, Divi. However, it won't be as easy as the video game would lead you to believe."

Divi looked down and nodded slightly before looking back to Lex and said. "I think I understand. Is it fairly close or far off?" She leaned gently against him as he pulled her gently close while kissing the top of her head before saying. "Sadly, that is an even more complicated question to answer. Some people are easier to please than others. Like me for example, because you are my daughter I find it easier to be pleased by what you do." He looked to her as a thought came to mind as he said. "Let's say almost anyone else out there was holding you as I am now. What would you think of a stranger holding you like this?"

Divi's eyes widened as a worried and oddly creeped out look upon her face appeared as she replied. "That would be very unpleasant, daddy. Why would they be touching me?" He nodded before lifting up his other hand to gently touch her cheek as he said. "There could be many reasons, but one I can easily think of is because you're a beautiful woman, Divi." She thought about that a moment, smiling to herself while nuzzling her cheek gently against his hand and said. "Oh, so you are saying I should treat other's how I want to be treated?" That got a big smile from Lex as he replied. "Yes, that is a good way to summarize it." At that moment, his quest turned itself in.

After reading all of that with a smile, Lex continued to speak. "Speaking of such things. How are you holding up? Are you tired?" Divi looked up to him before shaking her head and said. "I feel okay." She looked towards her stomach before continuing to speak. "I am still adjusting to my core's energy output, but I don't think I will be tired until tonight. Why do you ask?" Lex nodded slightly and said. "Well, I received an interesting item that I'd like to try out. It's called, Pocket Kingdom. Would you like to come with me?"

Divi's eyes widened as the thought of going on an actual adventure with her daddy went through her mind. This sounded fun and so, she eagerly replied. "Yes, I'd love to." At that moment, Sazla was coming back from the bathroom and asked. "Love to what?" Lex looked to Sazla and said. "Ah, good timing, Sazla. I was going to ask if you wanted to come with us. I received an interesting item the other day called, Pocket Kingdom. It sounded like it would be fun to explore. What do you say, care to join us?"

Sazla pondered this for just a moment while Divi started to pout. Sazla looked at Lex then Divi before looking back to Lex and said. "Sounds interesting, but what about work?" Divi wrapped her arms around Lex's waist and said. "Daddy knows what he is doing. Right daddy?" Lex couldn't help himself as he began laughing. Divi's unbridled confidence in him was rather cute, but unexpected. He gently ran his fingers through Divi's hair which prompted a happy grin from her as he started to speak. "That's right, Divi. I don't think I have explained this to either of you yet, but time doesn't work the same in an illusion barrier as it does in this world."

Lex looked to the clock which currently read, 5 a.m.. Granted, he needed to be at work by 9 a.m.. This gave him three hours in the real world to play with. With this in mind, he continued to speak. "It's currently 5 a.m.. That gives us three hours here to play with in the real world. However, in an illusion barrier those three hours are multiplied by five. So, we'll have fifteen hours to explore."

Sazla looked rather confused, but nodded. Lex smiled before saying. "Don't worry about it, Sazla. Before we start, I'll need to send out party invites." He used the mental command, 'Invite Divi and Sazla to party.' Although he hadn't tried inviting two people at once before. He was certain that it would be successful. This was confirmed by Divi and Sazla's reactions. Their eyes widened and they reached to touch something in the air. When they did, their health and mana bars appeared next to their portraits beneath his own.

Lex opened his inventory and took out the Pocket Kingdom. This item was not what Lex had expected to see. Sure, he knew the effect that light had on an apache tear, but see it here was on a different level. It was a rather beautiful black stone, but when light was on the other side, you could see three small objects swirling within the grey area of the stone. One was purple, one was light brown, and the last one was a whitish blue. Hmm, these must be the essences that were listed in the materials. As he held it a notification popped up.

Do you wish to use the item, Pocket Kingdom?

Doing so will consume the item, replacing it with a special item to teleport you into the space of your Pocket Kingdom.

Suggested level before entry is level 10. Minimum of one member required. Do you wish to continue?

Yes or no?

Divi and Sazla both asked at the same time. "What is that?" Lex looked to them both and said. "Believe it or not, this is the Pocket Kingdom." He used the mental command, 'Yes' causing the item to expand and pop in his hand, vanishing from view before being replaced by a new item called, 'Warpstone'. It was a white quartz crystal in the shape of an oval. Interestingly enough it had two weird spiral patterns, one was green and the other was blue.

Warpstone. Unique soulbound item. This item has two functions, teleporting the user to and from the user's Pocket Kingdom. Upon use this item will leave a waypoint to where the user had entered from. Material: White Quartz Crystal, Dwarven Runes of Teleportation, Green Pyrite, and Blue Pyrite. Durability Indestructible.

(Note: This item cannot be improved through crafting and does not take up inventory space. Teleportation to and from the Pocket Kingdom can only be done outside of combat and cannot be performed under duress. Teleportation requires 1 second of channeling. Party members must be touching the user to join in the teleportation process. Up to 4 party members may be teleported at a time.)

Lex looked to Divi then to Sazla and said. "Looks like you both need to be touching me when I use this." Divi held onto him tightly while Sazla moved closer and wrapped her arms around his left leg. He let out a breath and said, "Well, here we go." before pressing on the blue spiral. It quickly filled up with light and the world around them shattered into an empty void.

Descent into the Pocket Kingdom, Lex's start in a new land

Lex, Divi, and Sazla all saw the world reassemble itself around them, but what it had been replaced with was something none of them would have expected. They were standing on a field of soft green grass. Sazla let go of Lex while sniffing the air. Lex could only see miles of grass in the distance, but his attention was drawn to Sazla when she spoke up. "Something smells good in that direction." She had turned around and was pointing to a rather large volcano in the distance, surrounded by a few mountain peaks. While Sazla spoke, Lex placed the Warpstone into his inventory. However, when Sazla stopped speaking, a new quest appeared.

Lex's claim to the throne

- Rescue the Blacksmith within the Volcano

- Defend the Druid of the Forest

- Clear the way for the Fallen Fisherman

- Escort the injured Sky Huntress

Reward: 2,500 xp and Their support within your kingdom.

Optional bonus: Do so without any special items.

Reward: 3,000 xp and 1 Special Building for free.

Accept or Decline?

Divi looked up and said. "Oo, what do you think those are, daddy?" Lex blinked before looking up and saw three floating land masses, the undersides were embedded with large blue and white crystals. However, from this angle, he could not see what was on top of them, but said. "All I can say is that they are floating crystal islands." He decided to open his character sheet to look over his stats. Hmm, if he was going to do this without his items, he would need Strength more than ever. He put his 5 skill points into Strength, increasing it from 27 to 32. He felt his muscles expand slightly before condensing.

Lex mentally hit, 'Accept'. When he did, a mini-map appeared in the upper right corner of his view, showing the locations within the fog of war of where his objectives were. He looked to the mini-map then to his left. This was where the Fallen Fisherman was supposed to be. In that direction, Lex could see the ocean and a sandy beach. To his right, he could see a dense forest. Clearly this was where the Druid was. And back at the Volcano was the Blacksmith. Oddly enough, the injured Sky Huntress was not showing up on his mini-map. Lex began to wonder. 'Was that event meant to be last?'

After shaking his head, Lex knew there was only one thing he really needed to ask himself. 'Should I head to the Fallen Fisherman, the Druid, or the Blacksmith first?'
